Delightful December Releases~

I can't believe the year has flown by so fast!
One more month till 2015!
Can you believe it?
Let's end this merry month with some awesome end-of-the-year releases. :)

The Queen (The Selection #0.4)The Queen (The Selection #0.4)
by Kiera Cass
Release Date: December 2nd, 2014

Thoughts: It's time for Queen Amberly's story! I don't really know what to say about this. I just want more of America and Maxon. I'm not really that interested in Maxon's Dad....forgot his name...Charles? No. I forgot. But maybe learning about Amberly will lead to new things. :) So final thoughts: would I read it? Probably. Why not?

by Jaye Robin Brown
Release Date: December 9th, 2014

Thoughts: Well. Here's another new release! And for once, I actually read it before it came out and own the copy! Woot woot! You can find my full review for No Place to Fall HERE.

Tagline: A girl. A dream. A choice.

by Stacey Jay
Release Date: December 9th, 2014

Thoughts: Another fairy tale retelling~ Well, somewhat. Not really? It's more like a fairy tale spin off, where the story after the 'happily ever after is told'. With some twists. Either way, it involves princesses. And princes. And romance. And some villians. Perfect. After I read Of Beast and Beauty by Stacey Jay, I had to try another one of her books! :) And this one sounds great also.

Tagline: Sometimes you must fight for happily ever after.

Wicked (A Wicked Saga, #1)Wicked (A Wicked Saga #1)
by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Release Date: December 8th, 2014

Thoughts: Another new series by Jennifer L. Armentrout! The synopsis is kind of vague. You get a broad idea of the characters and and idea of what kind of book this is. Paranormal. Supernatural. Suspense. Secretive. Wicked. I love the title. Just the word wicked makes the book sound amazing. And that cover is kind of hot. :) Should I read it though? Hmmm. Not really sure, since I'm not that into NA books. Especially ones with supernaturals and paranormalcy, so....maybe.

You Were Mine (Rosemary Beach, #9)You Were Mine (Rosemary Beach #9)
by Abbi Glines
Release Date: December 2nd, 2014

Thoughts: Well, I must say, Abbi Glines got a lot more popular now. Her book is even featured in the Popular New Releases list! I was there since the first book of the Breathe series and the first book of the Rosemary Beach series. I loved them. But then, it started to get to be ALL about the romance the NA scenes are turning into legit Adult ones, and I just slowly stopped reading the series. Nothing against it though. I mean, I love romance, but I'm not THAT obsessed. Either way, I think it's those very descriptive love scenes that turn me off. But willing to promote anyways. :)

by Cora Carmack
Release Date: December 15th, 2014

Thoughts: This is a random book I fell upon while looking around Goodreads. You know, those random titles with interesting covers. Then you read the blurb and you find out that it actually sounds pretty interesting. Inspire does. And it releases in December. Supposedly. So famous phrase: why not?

Love the dress cover. And the romance sounds quite interesting. Kind of reminds me of The Siren by Kiera Cass.

Tagline: Creation & Destruction. These are things I inspire.

Well, that's all I have for this month. :)
Not as much as I expected, since most of them are releases to a series.
Anyways, hope you guys are excited for more holidays coming right up!
I'm excited for that long break~
Happy Reading~

The Selection is No Longer a Trilogy!

You know what that means right?
BOOK #4 and BOOK #5!!
Nope. I'm not lying.

Check out this website: http://unlockmoreselection.com/ for extra Selection sneak peeks and material. :)

And that's not even it!

There are two more novellas coming!

The Queen (The Selection #0.4)
by Kiera Cass
Release Date: December 2nd, 2014

Goodreads Summary:
Before America Singer’s story began, another girl came to the palace to compete for the hand of a different prince….

This prequel story takes place before the events of The Selection and is told from the point of view of Prince Maxon’s mother, Amberly. Discover a whole new Selection with this inside look at how Maxon’s parents met—and how an ordinary girl named Amberly became a beloved queen.

Comments: This one is coming out real soon. Already knew about this one though. Onto the next! :)

The Selection Stories: The Queen and The FavoriteThe Favorite (The Selection #2.6)
by Kiera Cass
Release Date: March 3rd, 2015

Book Summary: Marlee Tames came to the palace to win Prince Maxon's heart—but her own heart had other ideas. The Favorite goes behind the scenes of Marlee and Carter's life together, from the fateful night their secret was discovered to the events at the end of The One.

Comments: Well. The Favorite cover isn't out yet, but The Selection Stories for The Queen and the Favorite is there. The release date is for The Selection stories, because I'm not sure if The Favorite will come out sooner. Yee. Marlee's point of view! We'll get to know more about her private life. :)

But in the end, I'm still more excited for the novels!!
Because they are longer!
And I hope they talk more about Maxon and America, who always seem to get interrupted by something. :)

Plus, we get to meet some new people!
I wonder who "the heir" is.

*Cover is from Lite-Rate-Ture

Of course. There's no cover. And no synopsis. :(
Expected Release Date: May 5th, 2015

Lots of fives. BUT at least we're getting more information!! :D

And since we barely have news about the fourth book, there's nothing we know about the fifth book. YET.

Here's Kiera Cass' announcement video:
Totally hilarious and entertaining.
Love her.

Fabulous February Releases~

Oooh. There are so much good books this month!
#excitedmuch
Yee. Haha. Let's show ya'll the new releases.
:)

Ignite Me (Shatter Me, #3)Ignite Me (Shatter Me #3)
by Tahereh Mafi
Release Date: February 4th, 2014

Thoughts: The last book! *cries* Waited forever for this one. Can't wait to see who Juliette ends up with. Like. I love Adam and everything, but Warner is so freakin' mysterious. And hot. Gee. I really want to know about Warner. What even. Welps. Juliette, I hope you choose really well.

Tagline: FEAR WILL LEARN TO FEAR ME.

Take a Chance (Chances, #1; Rosemary Beach, #6)
Take a Chance (Chance #1)
by Abbi Glines
Release Date: February 25th, 2014

Thoughts: This series is a companion series of Fallen Too Far, which I happen to love, even though it's new adult and all. And I truly don't want to admit I read intimate books like that. But it was good! I'm not sure if I would read it though. I dunno. Maybe. The cover looks really cute. I hope it's a young adult book. I always tend to like the main, first series more in books. The only ever exception is the Graceling series by Kristin Cashore. I loved Fire! SO MUCH. It was the best book out of that series. Even though it's somewhat a prequel and a companion novel.

Tagline: ROMAN PIPER.

The Guard (The Selection, #2.5)
The Guard (The Selection #2.5)
by Kiera Cass
Release Date: February 4th, 2014

Thoughts: I'm not an Aspen lover. Definitely not on Team Aspen. But I would still love to read any The Selection related books. I already pre-ordered the last one. SO even though I don't like Aspen, I'm willing to meet him and let him tell his story.

AND, there's sneek-peeks of THE ONE! Yay!

Tagline: Before America Singer met Prince Maxon...
Before she entered the Selection...
She was in loved with a boy named Aspen Leger...

White Hot Kiss (The Dark Elements, #1)
White Hot Kiss (The Dark Elements #1)
by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Release Date: February 25th, 2014

Thoughts: Ooooohh. Another Jennifer Armentrout book. Hmmm. The synopsis definitely is a teaser. But the cover looks such like a new adult. Maybe. Or not. It seems like it's a young adult concept. I'll probably read it when I have the chance to get it. Haha. But I won't be caught dead with a title and cover like that at school.

Tagline: One kiss could be the last.

The Shadow Throne (The Ascendance Trilogy, #3)The Shadow Throne (The Ascendance Trilogy #3)
by Jennifer A. Nielsen
Release Date: February 25th, 2014

Thoughts: Another ending series! I love this middle grade read. The first book had such a twisty ending. I was absolutely thrilled by it. I found the second book less interesting. And truly, I wasn't really paying attention to Imogen and Sage's love. Because my idea of middle grade doesn't really include romance. But all's well. I can live with it. And I do want finish this series. :)

Tagline: One war. Too many deadly battles. Can a king save his kingdom, when his own survival seems unlikely.

Lady Thief
Lady Thief (Scarlet #2)
by A.C. Gaughen
Release Date: February 11th, 2014

Thoughts: Scarlet was like the book I've read back in elementary school and still in love with the idea with it half a decade later. Yep. It was so long ago, I'm like deeming it as a classic. At least in my library. Haha. So yes. Definitely reading Lady Thief. She's like one of the minions of Robin Hood. Everyone thought she was a boy. And now, they found out her true identity. ANNNDD, Robin Hood and her are totally in love. Gahh. I need to read this! Cuz they need to truly finish their romance. Who cares about that Lady Marion or whatever.

Tagline: Scarlet's true identity was revealed, but her future was uncertain.

That's it for now, gals.
YEE. Totally excited for this month.
Gee. Can't wait to read all of this!
I did say there were A LOT of good books this month.
But then these are my favorite ones.
And I got lazy to feature all the books I new about.
Even so, if you guys want me to feature a book YOU really really like, I'll be glad to post it up too. :)
Happy Reading~

Cover Update: The One by Kiera Cass

Yes, I am aware how late I am.
Which is sad that I didn't find out about this cover sooner.
But now that I discovered it, I can celebrate....
and live my life, saying ayo~ :)

THE ONE
I just can't wait. It's the one I'm waiting for. :D I really like the cover. AND I really can't wait to see who America ends up with. In that wedding dress.

**Drum-roll please...

The One (The Selection, #3)

It's so beautiful! *Cries. After going through so much adventure and twists, it feels like I'm marrying my daughter off to the guy of her dreams. *cries. AND I'M NOT EVEN MARRIED. I ALSO DON'T HAVE A DAUGHTER. How do I even get these feelings? Either way, it's a feeling of a mother. Happy, yet sad. Like an ending. But also a beginning.

You know what, I'm talking in riddles. Though I do like my philosopher moments, I end up really confusing myself.

But anyways, THAT COVER THO. *fangirls *cries *dies *whatever people when they see something they like *squeals?

Happy Reading~
Stay tuned for more updates.
Late ones. But I tend to be in more of a funny mode than a repetitive, annoying fangirl mode.

Update on The One by Kiera Cass + The Guard novella

I KNOW THERE ARE THE SELECTION FANS OUT THERE! FORREAL THO. THE SELECTION IS TOO FAB FOR WORDS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T READ IT YET.

The Selection (The Selection, #1)The Elite (The Selection, #2)

These are the first two book to the series. Fab Fab Fab cover right? Well, the plot and story gets even better. The romance? Well, a little messy. Cuz there's that love-triangle. I'm rooting for Maxon ALL THE WAY.

The third and final to the trilogy! THE ONE! Nice title. There's no cover yet. :/ But......:D There's a release date! Yippee!! But.....that release date is very far away. :( So far that my freshman year would almost be over by then. :( It's alright though! At least it's not coming out in 2015.

May 6th, 2014!!!

Yep. That big day it's gonna come out!! :D

Ya'll know about The Prince right?
The Prince (The Selection, #0.5)

Yeah. That one right there! The Selection #0.5 novella? The one in Maxon POV? Yeah? Well, anyways Kiera Cass is making another of those novellas. But this time, it's called The Guard!! :D

I think you know what that means~ *wiggles eyebrows. Time for Aspen. Despite at first, I really didn't like Aspen, in the second book, I didn't despise him as much. Doesn't mean I like him though. Doesn't mean I prefer him over Maxon.

And sadly, though, the author ships Asperica alot. :'( I hope she makes her end up with Maxon though. If she ended up with Aspen, I'm going to officially hate this series. Unless, of course, if Kiera finds a reason for me to like Aspen. Like he's actually the secret prince. Omg. Or if Maxon died. Or else.....

The Guard:
The Guard is going to be a The Selection #2.5 novella and it's going to come out on Feburary 4th, 2014! :D Or of course, you can wait for The Selection Stories: The Prince and The Guard, which is probably coming out around then also.

There's no cover for The Guard yet. So...:( no cover to share. From Kiera's blog, we learned that The Guard would be about Aspen POV duhhh and it's gonna take place during parts of The Elite. :D :D Okay. I hope we'll get to learn more about Aspen. And I hope I'll like Aspen better. Better. Just better. Not more than Maxon. :) Just better. I really don't want to hate Maxon. LOL.

I think that's it to my news. Stay tuned ya'll. Oh yeah, and here's Kiera Cass's website, so you can check out even more stuff! :D www.kieracass.com But then, she's not updating as often. :( So don't be disappointed.

**credits to Kiera's Blog for the info.

Happy Reading~

Just when America is sure she’s made her choice, a devastating loss makes her question everything again. And while she’s struggling to imagine her future, the violent rebels that are determined to overthrow the monarchy are growing stronger and their plans could destroy her chance at any kind of happy ending.

Cindy's Review: For those who never read The Selection, this review most likely won't make sense. So either go read the book ;D or read my review: The Selection.

I read this book like so long ago it's last month, but it feels really long ago Why do I have to wait that long to review? Omg. I forget stuff. But then, I'm super lazy, I don't review it immediately after I finish reading. I have a review pile. And it's still huge now. There's gonna always be a review pile like 24/7. Last time I finished reviewing the whole pile was when I had nothing to read. Now.....well, I'm running out of time to even read due to all school stuff. You don't even want to look at my calendar. I only review on the weekends, so that makes thing worst. And I went to the Bay Area 2013 Maker Faire yesterday btw, which was a Saturday. I'm typing this on a Sunday.  I schedule my posts over the week, so that explains why this doesn't make sense.

Well, so don't blame me if I forget some stuff. I'm surprised I actually spent a whole paragraph or more  on myself. Now for those who are waiting for the review. I'm getting to the point.....

The Cover:
I really love those covers. They have amazing dresses and it just gives The Selection feeling to it. I kind of like The Selection cover better. I think that dress is prettier. And I like blue more than red. ;D Okay, yeah. I'm so weird. I ALWAYS have to talk about covers. I know. But then, I try to relate the cover to the story, so I hope that's better.  I don't remember if there was a red dress scene in The Elite. Was there a scene where queen b**** Celeste ripped her dress? Or was that a scene in The Selection. I'm pretty sure that dress was red. Or maybe not. But I'm not sure which book that scene is from.

Okay. Let's move on to the plot and characters. I'm talking so much. Ugh.

The Characters:
America Singer - You know, I feel like America got more sure of herself. She isn't that shy. And when Aspen goes to her, she won't be like 'You can't be near me! Go back to work!' She would let Aspen hug her or something. America says she feels like she' s being used by Maxon, but I get the feeling that she's using him. Despite how much, America seems to be saying, she likes Maxon, but she likes Aspen, I still feel like America is just using Maxon. For example, whenever something happens, America literally runs to Aspen and asks for a hug or kiss. I mean, JUST MAKE UP YOUR MIND LADY! Even though I bet the book was written to make readers like this.

Aspen - So in the review of The Selection, I mentioned that I disliked Aspen and America should end up with Maxon. I don't really hate Aspen that much anymore. I mean, he's Aspen, a boy who lost the love of his life and striving to get her back. I think the real fault is America. If America doesn't let Aspen hug and kiss her, then it wouldn't have happened. Aspen wouldn't have forced her. America is totally cheating on Maxon. And then, there was this time period where America didn't really interact with Maxon at all, I'm just like, Ohmygawd.....America!! Yeah. She's driving me nuts. The bad way.

Maxon - Okay. I admit. I can't fangurl all over Maxon and be like, 'He's so goddamn cute. And gorgeous." I just can't. Maybe he is. But like, Maxon changed a bit in The Elite. It's like he grew up. I don't like how he has all these Celeste moments. I mean, like they were making out. But that doesn't compare to Aspen and America kissing, but the AA kiss actually have deep feelings. Which I don't want. And plus, Maxon really does like America. Like there's no other person in his heart. Unlike someone.

You see, this book has got me quite worked up. The love-triangle drives me crazy. I totally won't die if America chooses Aspen, but I still want America to end up with Maxon. What kills me though, is when America have to run to Aspen when she wants support. I mean, just go to Maxon., sheesh. That's what he's there for!

The Plot:
*Takes a deep breath. Okay. I'm over this. Let's talk more about the plot than my thoughts of the main characters. There was definitely more action in The Elite. There were more cute scenes for Maxon and America. And there also definitely more scenes for Aspen and America. I'm glad this second book wasn't a slow motion read.

This book started with 6 girls remaining. By the end of it though, there's only 5, so one girl was eliminated.

For those who haven't read this series, like OHMYGAWD YOU SHOULD READ IT. <- not lying over here.

The Rating:(1-10) ~10, 9.96.....
Yeah. I give really confusing ratings. I mean, this book totally deserves a 10, but I just have this big thing about never giving book series a 10. I just feel like stand-alones or the first book in a series deserves a 10.

Happy Reading~

P.S. And yeah. No quotes, cuz I was too focused on reading......

Book Review: The Prince by Kiera Cass

The Prince (The Selection, #0.5)The Prince (The Selection #0.5)
by Kiera Cass

Format: ebook, 94 pages

ISBN: 978-0-0622-4816-9

      Barnes and Nobles
      Amazon

Goodreads Summary: Before thirty-five girls were chosen to compete in the Selection...

Before Aspen broke America's heart...

There was another girl in Prince Maxon's life...

Don't miss this thrilling 128-page original novella set in the world of the New York Times bestselling novel The Selection. Also features a teaser to The Elite, Kiera Cass's hotly anticipated sequel to The Selection.

Cindy's Review: I couldn't resist. I had to get this book. It was only $1.99 and I had like $7.99 gift card money in my BN account so I decided to spend it. ;) Omg. And for those who know me, I love The Selection. It was like one of the best books. Nothing was overboard.

The Cover:
Is that Mazon's crown? ;) Sexy crown.

The Characters/Plot:
This novella kind of took place right before the selection was announced to public. And went to that tiny conference Maxon had with everybody in the beginning of The Selection. I guess it was kind of a 'love at first sight' thing for Maxon and I don't like those romance concepts, but oh well. As long as America's story is good.

Maxon - Well, the hot prince is back with his own story. In this novella we learn how nervous Maxon is and we learn about the girl Maxon grew up with.

OMG. I forgot her name. It started with a G. Anyways, she's like a total b****. She's like forcing Maxon to like her and everything and Maxon doesn't even like her.

America - After that G girl was gone, then it was all about America. LOL. Considering she is the main character of the series. I really hope she ends up with Maxon though. Instead of that ugh Aspen. I don't hate Aspen, I just like Maxon better. LOL.

The Extras:
I always love the novellas author provide for their series. Because it isn't a must-read to get the understanding of the book. But if you read it, it helps with a lot of the questions asked. You basically learn a lot about that book.

Anther reason why I didn't regret buying this novella is because of the two chapters of The Elite provided. Sweet! I can't wait till The Elite comes out. ;) I think it comes out somewhere at the end of April. I already pre-ordered it! ;) Yea! Can't wait!

Rating: (1-10): 9.5
*Squeals. Maxon!

Happy Reading~

Book Review: The Selection by Kiera Cass

The Selection (The Selection, #1)The Selection (The Selection #1)
By Kiera Cass
Released Date: April 24th, 2012
Publisher: HarperTeen
Format: ebook, 327 pages
Get a Copy:
            Barnes and Nobles
            Amazon

Goodreads Summary: For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself--and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

Cindy's Review: This book was recommended to me by my book buddy, Liana @ Book Addict. And I must certainly say. It's as good as she says it.  And yes, it's another one of my lovely dystopian novels!! ;)

Cover:
I love the cover. It's so attractive. And I love the bluish hue color, since it is my favorite cover. I love covers where they have dresses. At the same time, I'm checking out the dress. It's pretty. I like how all the other girls are wearing the same exact dress. Okay. Enough about the cover. You guys must think I only think about the cover. LOL.

Characters:
The main character, America Singer has a very outgoing, lively personality. And also an unique name. America Singer. She might as well be an American Singer. LOL. Ok Lame. Anyways, America is a Five and when she was picked to become a princess-in-training, she was changed to a Three.

The level goes from a One to a Seven or even Eight. Only Prince Maxon is One, and the highest the rest of the citizens could be is a Two.

Aspen is America's first love. America secretly sneaks out at night to meet him. To give him food, more like. Aspen is a Six (or was it Seven?), which is basically a servant and way low in the system. Aspen is okay, but soon he became annoying. I mean. Like, get away from America! She has Maxon! Like stop separating them! Jeez.

So it leads us on to Prince Maxon. Maxon is like a really cool type of guy. He's mischievous  and did I mention handsome? The perfect type of guy there is. I think he really matches America. America should totally forget about Aspen and move on with her life and stay with Maxon forever.

I think America would make  a really good princess/queen. She is directing, but kind. Outgoing and funny, but knows how to not cross the line. She's like also perfect. I envy her. It's Aspen whose in the way.

Concept/Plot:

The Selection reminds me of Matched because the whole future society and how there are levels/classes and the whole 'controlled by king' thing. It also reminds me of The Princess Academy, a little bit, of how there is a whole bunch of girls in training to marry the prince.

Either way, I really like the plot of this book. I like the whole the pick of one girl from each province and the prince has to pick one girl to marry. The whole friends with benefits thing America has with Maxon is so totally amazing~ ;)

It's super close to my favorite dystopian novels, but the click it had with me wasn't hard enough to pop my ears. But I must say, it is enough for me to put on my favorite book list!! :) That's reminds me, I gotta update my Book Recommendations. ;)

For ebooks, I don't really do quotes since I'm too lazy to go on my iPod and search up the quotes and stuff.

So guys, I really recommend this book as it was once recommended to me. :)

And also, Happy Veteran's Day!
