Cindy's Review: 
At a Glance:
Well, I knew what this book was about when I first saw it. I mean, it was pretty obvious. ;D I was first attracted to the Beastly part of the title. For those who haven't read Beastly by Alex Flinn and is a fan of fairy tale retelling, YA romance, etc, the book is all yours!! 

And I suggest you read Beastly before you read Beastly: Lindy's Diary, because this book left some scenes out and added some scenes in. This book is basically Lindy's point of view of Beastly. And Beastly was Kyle's point of view. He's the monster, btw...

The Characters/My Thoughts:
Lindy - Okay. Don't really blame me for forgetting how these characters acted in Beastly, because I read Beastly two years ago...for the CYRM contest. Explains it? LOL. Add my memory = whiteboard. I guess I can start off by saying Lindy is kind of shy.....? Or maybe I just don't know what I'm saying... Okay. In Beastly, from Kyle's POV, Lindy seems like she hates Kyle. In Lindy's version, she hates him, but not as long as he thought she hated him. If that makes sense. Lindy started becoming curious and then finds out this beast isn't as bad as she thought he was..

Kyle - Kyle the ultra popular boy at school that turned into a beast because he was being an ass. Short summary of Kyle's history. ;D  What can I say? Kyle became a cool guy after he became a beast. Lindy starts to give up her bearings and actually like him and all. Yeah. I think it's just better to look at my Beastly review even though it's from way back then when I don't know what's wrong with my horrific reviews. LOL. 

Okayy. Can't even find my review for Beastly because I read that book before I even had this blog. x) Ummm. I guess you can go read other reviews of Beastly then.

Liked:
- I liked how Lindy's Diary showed the Lindy side of the story. What she thought of everything. What she's thinking. Not just what Kyle thought. Lindy's Diary sort of gave out more answers than necessary. We officially know why Lindsy would start liking Kyle or why she talked to him in the first place. 
- Lindy's Diary still has Alex Flinn's magical writing skills. All her attention-catching, amazing descriptions of fairy tale retelling were still there. ;D 
- Well. It's nice to, in a way, rereading Beastly without really rereading it.

Disliked:
- I kind of want Lindy to be more lovable, I guess. I mean, it's really hard to like female protagonist because they're either annoying, bossy, stuck-up, self-centered, or depressing. I mean, it's really easy to like the guys though. ;/ Maybe because I'm a girl in the first place. But either way, Lindy was just not my favorite female character. 
- I expected more things to happen. Like I really want to have those extra secret scenes. For example, because this just came to my head, Requiem by Lauren Oliver. The whole series had been Lena's point of view, but at the end of book 3, Lauren gave an Alex short story. A short scene that had already passed with Alex's point of view. I died there. #Tooexcited. LOL. So I think it'll be great if I had that excitement for this book too. 

Final Thoughts:
This book was a refreshing read, since I wanted to reread Beastly a lot before I found this book. That's why I was searching for it in the first place. ;D Beastly lovers....I know you're out there. ;D Here's a book for you! Of course, if you haven't found it and read it already. #EveryoneknowsImslowandall.

Cindy's Review: I was really surprised I actually got my hands on a book like this. I first met this book....oh I'm so weird.....okay I first learned about this book through a Goodreads ad thing and it seemed oh so very interesting. ;) 

Then one day, my friend and I went to this book signing for Marie Lu, Andrea Cremer, Jessica Khoury, and Brenna Yovanoff (Jealous? LOL. Jk.) and we saw the book selling on the book store!! ;) It was the first book signing I ever went and if you know me, I go nuts when I'm too crazily excited. The Selection was selling.....and omg. Tons of books. Then I saw this book.....and my friend wanted to buy it. So I decided I can just borrow her copy. Yeap. That's how I got it.

Gosh I sound like a kid telling a story. Anyways, I'm really glad I got my hands on this book though.

The Cover: 
So the cover is amazing. I finally understand what a pod looks like. Like in The Giver by Lois Lowry, there also this pod thing and now I can fully understand what it kind of looks like. ;) The book makes the outside world so harsh though.

The Characters/Plot:
So like even though these characters are super awesome, I didn't really connect and cry with them. So sorry if I don't explain enough about them.

Alina - Although there are three main characters, I still feel like Alina was the main main character. I felt like everything revolved around her and there wouldn't really be a story without her. Alina is this strong, smart, leader-ish type of girl, but she's kind of sad and breaking on the inside. Especially after that someone left her life. She is kind of like this decision maker leader thing. Although people look up to her decisions, many contradicts her, so I can't exactly say she is the leader. But out of the three main characters, I think she was the most brave and will walk on a battlefield even though she knows she will die. She is willing to walk to her death to do what's right. 

Quinn - Quinn is like the second main character to me. I mean, he is the guy. And i think he kind of held the group together. Without him, I think Alina would have by herself the whole time. Quinn is the son of this high society general person. So like if you read Pandemonium and Requiem (Lauren Oliver's Delirium series) kind of like Julian. {I just finished Requiem, so therefore my example} . Except I don't despise him like I despise Julian. Well, I didn't really hate Julian but it's all his fault why Lena......okay back to review. About Quinn. Before I get way too carried away. I feel like I'm talking to myself. Omg. So anyways, Quinn is like the glue. He likes Alina but Bea actually likes him a lot. I can say, on the outside Quinn likes Alina but deep down to his core, there's someone else.

Bea - Bea is the third girl on the adventure. At first, I hated her because I thought Quinn and Alina had a chance and Bea was the really annoying, jealous girl, but it turned out Alina wasn't even interested. I guess she just lost too many people in her life to care. At the end, Bea just turned out to be a girl to me.Nothing special. Just the girl. Bea kind of reminded me of Annabeth in the later series (The Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan) . I mean Annabeth isn't just a girl to me. Cuz she's like Percy Jackson's girlfriend, but later she became more whiny, and she gets jealous so much and like yeah. But I guess Bea is okay in the end.

So the three of them go out of the pod with two days of oxygen. So in there time, which is the future, so yes, this is a dystopian book. ;D oxygen is running out and special pods had to be created for people to live and people had to buy oxygen to breathe, so therefore the title. 

Quinn and Bea just wanted to go camping but Alina actually had a mission. To get to the people that hadn't listened to the government and created their own little group out there to survive. Alina actually is an agent there. SO yeah. Don 't wanna explain too much so I don't give the whole book away. ;) 

The Extras:
Yeah. Even though I talked a lot about other books. There's more.I'm just that talkative guys. It's a good thing right? :D

So the place Alina is going also reminds me about the Invalids in the Delirium series by Lauren Oliver. And all the other outcasts there are in books. SO I forgot what they're called in this book.

Cindy's Review: I've seen this book feature in so many blogs and they all say it's so good, so I decided to give it a try. Let me tell you one thing, I REALLY REALLY didn't regret this one. This kind of book is like the ones I chase so much over, those dystopian novels that knock me down to my knees. I LOVE DYSTOPIAN!! So those dystopian fans out there who loves Delirium, Divergent, Legend, The Maze Runner, and Matched, this one's for you!!! 

The Cover:

I really can't say anything about the cover and title. I think the cover is okay. I mean, I get how the cover is like shattered, but I don't really get the title. If I just saw the cover and read the title, I probably wouldn't have picked up the book, but from all those awesome reviews I seen, I definitely decided to pick it up because of the contents. Now I have another book to recommend to my whole list of dystopian books!

The Characters/Plot:

Juliette Farrer - I forgot how to spell her last name. LOL. So the books start off where Juliette is inside her prison cell. She has been in there for 264 days, without saying a word and doing anything; just looking out the window. And dreaming about a flying bird. She is locked up inside the prison cell because she is supposingly insane. But she isn't. She just has abnormal abilities, which is when she touches someone, they will go into a seizure like thing and die. They called her freak, her parents gave her up, and now she's been locked up for about 3 years (not in the same place). She is now 17.

Truthfully, I don't like the name Juliette very much. It just reminds me of this tomboy woman who likes boxing and it also reminds me of this super romantic Romeo and Juliet play. No offense to the Juliette's or Juliet's out there.

Adam Kent - The next day, Day 265 of Juliette's non-speaking, Adam comes in to be her new cellmate. Juliette remembers Adam as in the nice boy back then who was the only person who treated her like a human. The Adam that I guess, she used to like. But it turns out Adam is actually a soldier of Warner. 

Warner - I don't remember his first name. So Warner is 19 and he inherited his father's Sector 45 or soldier or land or whatever I forgot. He was interested in Juliette and decided to make into a war weapon, to help me advanced and gain more power. Warner sounds deep, sinister, and evil, but I have a little pang of sympathy for him. I don't know why but sometimes he is just normal. Most of the time, or more like 23 hours and 59 minutes in a day, he's sinister and evil.

Despite Juliette not wanting to kill people and be a war weapon, Warner keeps her stuck, trapped, and controlled. But when Juliette later finds out the real reason Adam is in the army, she have doubts to trust Adam or not. Later, Juliette decided to trust Adam and together, they tried to escape and embark the long way out, trying to run away from Warner's reach. Juliette meats James, whom is Adam's younger brother along the way and Adam's fellow soldier friend, Kenji also helps them find a safe place.

Book Comparisons:

Okay. You don't know how much books this books reminds me of. First of all. Adam is like reminding me of three different people right now. First of all, his name reminds me of Eve and Adam (the real set, not the book). And from the book Eve and Adam, I didn't feel quite connected to him, so when I first knew his name was Adam, my reaction was like 'ugh. Another Adam.' But I swear up and down this time he's super hot. ;D Also, at the same time, I was reading a book called Drawn To You by Janel Rodriguez Ferrer, which I recently received in the mail. ;) And there was an Adam in there. He also sounds pretty okay looking. 

Then, Adam reminds me of Alex from Delirium because of that one scene. I can't say anything because that scene is a cliffhanger ending for Delirium. Plus, they both sounds goddamn gorgeous. And eyes were mentioned in both books. So I guess they both have really nice eyes. And they're names are similar. LOL. 

Adam also reminds me of Four from Divergent by Veronica Roth because both guys have to listen to the evil guy and follow their directions. Also, while Adam and Juliette secretly like each other at night and pretend not to know each other by day, so does Four and Tris in Divergent. Kind of. So, they're kinda like friends-with-benefits, just don't go too far on that phrase. 

And running away together reminds of me once again, Delirium. Like how Alex and Lena ran away. It's amazing how I remember all these character names, considering how much books I read, but they are my all time favorites. Okay. Enough with the book comparisons.

The Ending:

Hmmmm....they are safe, for now. Hope I didn't spoil too much just by saying that. I made it hidden so you don't have to read it.  But I really can't wait to see what happen after.

The Bad:

Are you kidding me. Are is it even bad? It was kinda short compared to Delirium and Divergent but I know I loved!!

The Good:

AHHHHHH! I LOVE DYSTOPIAN BOOKS! SO DUHH IT"S PERFECT! 

Rating: (1-10): 9.9!

It hit me hard enough to give it a 0.1 from a ten. Thank god there was no love-triangles. Not really.

I sense romance o.0 ;) This is like the second page of the book and I already sense romance. Just the 'cocking the eyebrows' part and I know they're meant to be together. And I was!

Aren't they always? Like Alex? ;D If you're gorgeous, you gotta be dangerous too. Like Day from Legend ;) 

"My parents emptied their pockets of me and left to evaporate on a concrete slab"

Ugh. Such horrible parents. 

"Cellmate has a nice name."

I swear she's doing a report on 'cellmate' LOL.

Book Haul #2!

I have been waiting forever for a Book Haul #2. As you may know or not, my money is very limited and I'm exactly allowed to make book purchases. And ebooks doesn't count. It's only paperback. In this book haul, though, I got three new books!! ;D Yaya!

So I bought two of them since I really really wanted it. Then, the third book I also already read, I bought with this five dollar scholastic gift certificate thing. Yeah.

Even though this book haul isn't as big as my other one, it's pretty good considering that I had to spend m own money and I really like these books anyways.

Cindy's Review: This is once again, another book I got from the Teen Read Week thing. I guess I'm finally reading those books since I'm too busy to go to the library and I always need a paperback copy in my hand, even though I'm reading ebooks at the same time. Ebooks make my eyes hurt, so I always tend to have a paperback copy I'm currently reading. And in this case, it's the Teen Read Week books I got. Plus, I like ARC copies, so it works. ;)
The Cover: 
Okay, I really didn't think much about the cover this. It's more like, oh it's another free book. Yes! And then it just added to my stack. But now that I'm actually looking at it, it kinda seems scary to me. The girl looks like she had just been hanged or something. It somehow states that she is lonely with no one around her. And she has pretty legs. Omg. I had to notice that though. Yes. Seems like she's dangling from heaven, looking straight at hell sort of thing. 

The Characters:
The main character of this book is a girl named Elizabeth Valchar. She's pretty, popular, perfect, and also what you would call bitchy. As bitchy as she is, I have to hate this other character in this book even more and it's Elizabeth's step-sister, Josie. OMG. Josie is like a total bitch that has a nice cover. (Excuse my language, but like really!) She pretends to be nice when the whole time she's been-----. Okay. Can't say anything. But one thing I'll say is "Like mother, like daughter."

I'll tell you more about Josie's mom, if you would like. Josie's mom, Nicole, and Liz's dad, Marshall, were high school sweethearts. They went their separate ways at college. Somehow they met again at a small village, but Liz's dad already met Liz's mom, Lisa. Even when Lisa was there, Nicole would like hit on Marshall. Nicole even had Josie already, but the townspeople thinks Marshall is cheating on Lisa with Nicole. They think Josie was Marshall's and Nicole's. So, in the end, Lisa ended up starving herself and died. So I guess you can say, you it's obvious, that Nicole killed Lisa. And not only that. Only one week after Lisa's death, Nicole immediately divorced her husband and became Liz's step-mom. Like tf! Omg.  I hope I didn't say too much. But it's totally 'like mother, like daugher.' And it's not a good thing this time. 

So, also there was this other guy, who helped Liz a lot. His name was Alex (Delirium <3) and he died at the age of seventeen from a car accident. The car accident actually connects everything together in this book somehow. It's like the final piece of the puzzle but you like won't get me until you read the book, so I'm not exactly spoiling anything, I hope.

OH, and there's Ritchie, who was Liz's boyfriend. I won't tell you much about him, but one thing is, Josie started dating Ritchie like the day after Liz's funeral. Omg. Like mother-like daughter. Oh. I know you have an idea. But let me tell you, it's not the reason Liz died though. Or maybe it's a part of the reason, but it's not the main reason. I kinda told you the answer, not really. It's more like I"m giving you the last piece of puzzle before you even made the puzzle. lol.

The Plot:
It was Liz's eighteen birthday, and Nicole and Marshall let her host a birthday party at her boat called Elizabeth. Everyone was drunk and passed out to sleep. Liz woke up to a thumping sound on the boat. She couldn't wake up anything else, so she decided to go outside to investigate. When she went outside, she saw herself floating in the waters, dead. 

People are saying her death is a drowning accident, but was it, really? Apparently, everyone on the boat was sleeping and no one heard a thing. I think I'm giving you guys way too much clues. But I wanna kill that--- . omg. No spoiling. K. 

There, Liz meets Alex, who was just one of those loners at school where everyone teased. Alex, who was also dead, because of the car accident I mentioned, started helping Liz, even though he hates. They were the only two people who can see, touch, and hear each other.

Liz basically lost her memory. Have you read Neal Shusterman's Everlost? You know how they are in between life and death. Like yes, they are dead, but they aren't exactly in heaven or hell. Yeah. That's Alex and Liz. They are here because they have some unfinished business on Earth. Apparently, it's too teach them to move on from their death and know the reason why they died. Liz can go back to memories that happened when she was alive when she closes her eyes. She can't sleep, so that is a reason she's always really tired.  

Plot in one short sentence: Liz is trying to discover who is behind her death.

The Ending:
I must say, the ending was pretty peaceful. I must give props to Liz's faithful boyfriend, despite him being a drug dealer.

The Bad: 
Hmmm. I can't really say anything was bad. I mean, there was nothing wrong with it. The book was really interesting, so no complaints here.

The Good: 
Well, if there's no complaints, I can say there's also no comments. lol. I hope you don't take this the bad way, but it was a just a pleasure read.

Mmmm. A confession: As bitchy as Liz is, I cried so much for her in this book. For her boyfriend. Her life. Her death. Her mom. Nicole stealing her dad. Etc.

That's where I got my phrase my from. Well, I heard of the phrase before I read this book, but this phrase really suits it really well.

"This is from the girl who stole five hundred dollars from me not two weeks ago."
Okay, I guess bitchy people have some bitchy friends as well. Not to be mean, but it's true.

"The world would be better off without you, Liz."

Ouch! But that came from a girl Liz was kinda going girl-crazy on. Pulling her hair etc.

Cindy's Review: So this is one of the books I got in Teen Read week. ;) Yes, it is another dystopian genre! I love dystopian. The romance in this one wasn't so bad. Anyways, let's get started!

The Cover: 

From the cover, I get the sense that she is running away from something. The bridge is reminds me of the Golden Gate Bridge even though it doesn't look like it at all. (I live near San Francisco, you see. So I can go there like anytime I want.) One more thing, I love the graduation color. (I had Art last year, and I just can't help but notice that too. LOL)

The Characters:

Eve is the main character in this book. In her society there are not that much humans after this total destruction thing, so the King ordered the girls to make babies. It totally sounds wrong and disgusting, but anyways, that happened. When Eve learned about that she is going to become one of those girls after graduation, she flees to the Wild, to the territory where the King isn't protecting. There, a boy named Caleb finds her and helps her get to her destination.

Caleb reminds me of Alex in Delirium. (But Alex is hotter.) Caleb basically lives in the Wild with a group of other boys. (He isn't born there like Alex was born in the Wilds though.) I don't really like the name Caleb. It just reminds me of Tris's brother from Divergent when he betrayed her at first. Even though he ends up helping Tris, I just can't help it.

The Plot/Concept:

As you know, when a guy meets a girl in a book, they're gonna fall in love. I think it was Eve's first time seeing a boy. LOL So through the book, Caleb and Eve barely escapes the soldiers that the King sent for Eve. When Eve gets to her destination, which is a safe camp for women only, she gets the decision of staying with Caleb in the dangerous Wilds, or staying safe in a safe camp with others.?

Besides the Caleb reminding me of other characters from one of my favorite dystopian books, I think this book reminded me of this one book I read about a slave girl running away from her owner, to a safe camp, also for women. The the whole running away in woods, trying to look for food, the running companion (not Caleb, it's Arden), and the safe camp. I forgot the title of the book though. I think the word Sunset is in it though. 

The Ending:

I told you like a lot in the plot/concept. Like I basically reached the end. If you answer the question I put up, then basically the book ends. So there isn't much I can tell you about the ending without spoiling it. 

The Good: 

Dystopian. I love dystopian. Yesh. Well, I don't really know. I guess this was a good, entertaining read. 

The Bad: 

I mean, this book isn't bad at all, but there are some things I suggest. 

First, since this book  takes place in the future, I think it should mention more about the future things. In the beginning, it seemed like this book was taking place in the future, but towards the middle part of the book, it could be taking place present day, for all I know.

Second, I think I've too much strong romance books that influenced me to this. But I think this romance isn't that strong. It's just one kiss. Or two. Like I don't scent that much jealousy and all that. Like Delirium. ;) Alex is totally to die for. 

Otherwise, I totally loved this book~
