Blog Tour: Quantum Entanglement by Liesel K. Hill

Welcome to my stop on the Quantum Entanglement Blog Tour
hosted by Liesel K. Hill herself!
In this post, you will find a super cool guest post done by Liesel. :) and a Goodreads giveaway.

Quantum Entanglement (Interchron #2)Blurb:

Five months after traveling to a post-apocalyptic future where collectives reign supreme and individuals have been hunted to the verge of extinction, Maggie Harper was returned to her own time until the threat to her life could be neutralized. She thought Marcus and the others would return for her within a few weeks, and now she’s beginning to worry.

When travelers from the future finally show up to collect her, it’s not who she expected. With the return of her memories, she wants more than ever to see Marcus again, but a snake-like woman whose abilities are a perfect match for Maggie’s, an injured Traveler, and decades of civil unrest to wade through all stand in the way of their reunion.

Meanwhile, Marcus and Karl traipse through the countryside, trying to neutralize Colin, who’s promised to brutalize and murder Maggie if he can get his hands on her. When a collective woman is left for dead, Marcus heals her, hoping she’ll be the key to killing Colin and bringing Maggie back. But she may prove as much a hindrance as a help.

The team struggles to get their bearings, but things happen faster than they know. The collectives are coalescing, power is shifting, and the one called B is putting sinister plans into action. If the team can’t reunite and get a handle on the situation, their freedom and individuality—perhaps their very identity—will be ripped away before they can catch their breath.

Guest Post: Top Ten Things to Put in Your Time Travel Kit

Hello Wonderful Readers! Has this ever happened to you? You’re minding your own business and going about your day, when life happens and you are forced, through no fault of your own, to leap frog through time without warning? If so, don’t beat yourself up. It happens to the best of us. However, you may want to consider keeping a Time Travel kit in the trunk of your car or basket of your bike. You know, just in case. It’ll make your next Traveling experience much less stressful.

Recommended Items:

The first few are basic supplies. If you’re Traveler is injured, or can only jump a handful of years at a time, the trip may take you several days or even weeks. You’ll need emergency supplies.

10. A week’s worth of rationed meals and water.

9. Space blanket and a change of clothes.
8. Portable shelter--tent or waterproof tarp will work.
7. First Aid Kit.

6. A weapon of some kind. I’d recommend a gun or Taser. Maybe a light saber if you can find one. Jumping into the future, you have no idea what kind of political atmosphere you’ll be landing in. Granted, depending on the status of neurochemical abilities in the time you land in, weapons may be obsolete, but having a bona fide weapon is still better than looking for rocks to throw. Besides, if your trip takes longer than a week, a weapon can also be used to hunt.

5. Conduit stone or other neurochemical focusing device. If you get captured in another time, especially by people with the ability to block neurochemical energy, it might be prudent to have something that will amplify your abilities. Comes in handy when fleeing from oppressive, futuristic regimes.

4. Concealer and/or Protector. Okay, you can’t really pack people with these abilities into your kit, but they sure are convenient in a tight spot. Perhaps try to grab someone with one of these abilities on the fly before you actually Travel. (Forcible kidnapping recommended.) Or just hone your own skills in these areas.

3. A timeline of the future. You won’t know when you are until you get there. You’ll have to look around and figure it out based on what’s happening in the society of the time. A timeline that includes key events will help you figure it out more quickly. And, let’s face it, the sooner you can blend in, the better.

2. A great attitude. Cheesy, I know. But let’s face it: Dropping everything to leap-frog through time while being chased by dangerous--sometimes homicidal--futuristic governments, can be rather stressful. A positive attitude goes a long way. And your fellow Travelers will sure appreciate it.

1. A book. If, like in #7-10, your Traveler requires rest between jumps, you may end up with a lot of downtime. And if you land in a period where it’s too dangerous to go down into the cities, TV may not be an option. Sure, you could bring board games, but I infinitely prefer a book. Here’s a universal truth for you: A well-written book can save your sanity on the average, impromptu trip through the post-apocalyptic future.

Note: if there are any items that you, personally can’t live without--medication, sentimental items, your Twilight Barbie Doll collection--make sure and pack those too. There’s no telling how long trips like this can last.

Of course, these are just recommendations. You don’t have to have a Time Travel kit, but if you opt not to put one together and find yourself being chased one hundred years from now by homicidal collective goons…well, don’t say I didn't warn you.

Here’s to making all your Time Travel trips…survivable. Cheers!

My Thoughts (of the guest post):
Now that was just brilliant~ :D You gotta admit it guys, it was totally fun to read. Great job, Liesel! Such a creative idea that me, myself, and I would have definitely not have thought up of. It's great having you here on my blog~

Look for the review later~ (it's probably taking me longer to write the review then reading. I'm still writing reviews for books I've read in June. OMG.)

P.S. And of course, being me, I color-coded everything. Haha.

Staggering September Releases~

Time for them September releases~
:D Yep. There's some pretty exciting books. Soo wait up.
And ohmergerd. #excited.

Simple Perfection (Perfection, #2; Rosemary Beach, #5)Simple Perfection (Perfection #2)
by Abbi Glines
Release Date: September 23rd, 2013.

Thoughts: Welps. I'm not a too big fan of the Woods and Della series. And when I'm not a big fan of the storyline or the characters, I end up don't liking the new adult novel. The only new adult novels I enjoy are the ones I absolutely love. Hehe. But who knows. I mean, it's Abbi Glines. She writes like the best new adult novels ever! I probably won't be staggering because of this novel, but I will definitely read it for fun, when I'm novelless.

Tagline: Woods had his perfect life mapped out for him.
Not much of a tagline, but well....

The Transfer: A Divergent Story (Divergent, #0.1)The Transfer (Divergent #0.1)
by Veronica Roth
Release Date: September 3rd, 2013.

Thoughts: Hehe. For those who know, I'm such a Divergent fan. Like forreal. So of course, I read it already. :) Haven't written the review yet, but it'll come soon...meaning somewhere in the next two months. LOL. Okey. And well. The Transfer is basically a prequel. It's all about Four. Like two years ago before Divergent took place.
Plus, I think I did a whole post on this.

Tagline: More Four!
LOL. Nice~

United We Spy (Gallagher Girls, #6)United We Spy (Gallagher Girls #6)
by Ally Carter
Release Date: September 17th, 2013.

Thoughts: This is the one. The one I've been actually waiting for to come since forever. Like. The finale to Cammie and Zach and all those spy stuff. I know this is more of a kid/middle school read. But like. But like I just love Ally Carter's spy novel. And might as well finish it up.
By the time this post comes, it should be mailing to me. Omg. Hehe. But right now, I still have to wait like a whole week. Ugh.

Tagline: Cammie Morgan has lost her father and her memory, but in the heart-pounding conclusion to the best-selling Gallagher Girls series, she finds her greatest mission yet.

The Chaos of StarsThe Chaos of Stars
by Kiersten White
Release Date: September 10th, 2013.

Thoughts: Hmmm. Didn't really know about this one. But then the cover is really pretty. And I have read Kiersten White books. They are pretty good. So yeah. I'll probably end up trying this one out. :D

Tagline: Isadora’s family is seriously screwed up.
LOL~ I would definitely read it.

Saving Raphael Santiago (The Bane Chronicles, #6)Saving Raphael Santiago (The Bane Chronicles #6)
by Cassandra Clare & Sarah Rees Brennan
Release Date: Seotember 17th, 2013.

Thoughts: Eek! More Cassie Clare. More sassy warlock. More Magnus Bane! LOL. I haven't even read any of the Bane Chronicles. But it's definitely on my superduper long TBR list.
I think the cover is kind of plain. But it's aight. As long as there's Magnus. :D
Btw, Raphael's the vampire. Remember him?

Tagline: A Manhattan teen—Raphael Santiago—is missing, and Magnus Bane must track him down before it’s too late.
Sounds like a mystery novel.

Sweet Legacy (Medusa Girls, #3)Sweet Legacy (Medusa Girls #3)
by Terra Lynn Childs
Release Date: September 3rd, 2013.

Thoughts: I actually don't know this series at all, but what caught me was Percy Jackson and Greek mythology. I love them both. :D This is the final book, so if there's any cliffhangers in the first or second book, I'll always have the last one. :D Gotta try this one out.

Tagline: The stunning conclusion of Tera Lynn Childs's Greek mythology–based Sweet Venom trilogy is perfect for teen fans of Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson series.
See what I mean?

The World of Divergent: The Path to Allegiant (Divergent, #2.5)The World of Divergent: The Path to Allegiant (Divergent #2.5)
By Veronica Roth
Release Date: September 24th, 2013.

Thoughts: Wait, what's this? Huh. Didn't know about this one. But coolios. Gotta read this one too~ Hehe. Great. Wonder what it's about. And omg. Allegiant. Totally baby. They should really get a cover for this though. Or not.

Tagline: Fascinated by the world of the Divergent series? This fifty-page bonus, previously only available in the Divergent Series Box Set, includes faction manifestos, a faction quiz, Q&A with #1 New York Times bestselling author Veronica Roth, book playlists, discussion questions, series inspirations, and much more!

Risked (The Missing, #6)Risked (The Missing #6)
by Margaret Peterson Haddix
Release Date: September 3rd, 2013.

Thoughts: Another one of my favorite middle grade books. Truthfully, I like history. Just not listening teacher drone on and on. And taking tests. But I like historical fiction. And The Missing series has a lot in it. And you can learn a lot of cool and fun facts. Kind of like The Magic Tree House. But it's more sci-fi than magic.

Tagline: Jonah thought that after his last adventure in 1903, he and his sister Katherine would have a break from time travel for a while. For the first time, he’s willing to look into his own identity in the past, and he thinks this is his chance.
So we'll learn more about Jonah~

The Boy On The PorchThe Boy on the Porch
by Sharon Creech
Release Date: September 3rd, 2013.

Thoughts: Okay. This just suggests romance. And I lurve those. And you know what else I love? Sharon Creech novels. They're good. They're of course, once again middle grade level. But many of Sharon's books are Newbery Award Winners. Like Walk Two Moons. If I did remember correctly, I cried reading that.

Tagline: From Newbery Medal winner Sharon Creech comes a singular story that reminds us of the surprising connections that bloom when unconditional love and generosity prevail. For when a young couple finds a boy asleep on their porch, their lives take an unexpectedly joyous turn.
Okay. Nvm. I guess this more of a family love connection kind of book. But I like those too. They make you cry. A lot.

Secrets of the fall (Loving summer: Donovan brothers #2)Secrets of the Fall (Loving Summer #4)
by Kailin Gow
Release Date: September 30th, 2013.

Thoughts: Omgomgomg. I read the first book and literally loved it. I really can't wait to see how that love triangle goes. But I really haven't been keeping with the second and the third book. Now that the fourth book is out, looks like I have some catching up to do.

Tagline: The Donovan Brothers… two gorgeous brothers in love with the same girl. How far would they fall to have her? One of them will claim her, but the other will find her. Only one can win her forever, unless their family secrets destroy everything.
OH OKAY~

Quantum Entanglement (Interchron #2)Quantum Entanglement (Intercrhon #2)
by Liesel K. Hill
Release Date: September 17th, 2013.

Thoughts: Read the first one. Pretty good. I liked it. :) So continuing onto the second one. :D Whoopdeedoop. KK. I'm like getting all tired and stuff. School tomorrow. Ugh. The mile. Ugh. Test results. Ugh. Welps. Night. Omg. That just doesn't make sense when this post goes up. Haha.

Tagline: Five months after traveling to a post-apocalyptic future where collectives reign supreme and individuals have been hunted to the verge of extinction, Maggie Harper was returned to her own time until the threat to her life could be neutralized.

Okay guys~ ._. That's it. I'm out. Lol. Not too much to say. But yay~ More books to read~ Whoopdeedoop~

Blog Tour: Persistence of Vision by LK Hill

Welcome to my stop on the Persistence of Vision Tour
hosted by the author herself, Liesel K Hill!
Click HERE to view the rest of the tour schedule.
Today, I will be doing a review and an interview with one of the characters, Clay.

 Blurb:

In a world where collective hives are enslaving the population and individuals have been hunted to the verge of extinction, Maggie Harper, and independent 21st Century woman, must find the strength to preserve the freedom of the future, but without the aid of her memories.

After experiencing a traumatic time loss, Maggie is plagued by a barrage of images she can't explain. When she's attacked by a creep with a spider's web tattoo, she is saved by Marcus, a man she's never met, but somehow remembers. He tells her that both he and her creepy attacker are from a future in which individuals are being murdered by collectives, and Marcus is part of the rebellion. The collectives have acquired time travel and they plan to enslave the human race throughout all of history. The flashes Maggie has been seeing are echoes of lost memories, and the information buried deep within them is instrumental in defeating the collective hives.

In order to preserve the individuality of mankind, Maggie must try to re-discover stolen memories, re-kindle friendships she has no recollection of, and wade through her feelings for the mysterious Marcus, all while dodging the tattooed assassins the collectives keep sending her way.

If Maggie can't fill the holes in her memory and find the answers to stop the collectives, the world both in her time and in all ages past and future will be doomed to enslavement in the grey, mediocre collectives. As the danger swirls around her and the collectives close in, Maggie realizes she must make a choice: stand out or fade away...

*New Adult futuristic dystopian fantasy

Cindy's Review:  First off, I would like to thank Ms. Liesel K. Hill for asking me to review this book and sending me a copy. Totally did not regret saying yes to her offer. :) Since, I feel so thankful, I'll be doing this review in my normal reviewing posts way. ;)

The Cover:
I think the cover is scary. LOL. When my English teacher saw it, she was like 'ooohhhhh'. I'll tell you why she saw it later... i like how I know who the guy is when I just began to read the book. So, good job explaining there. ;)

The Characters/Plot:
Maggie Harper - Maggie is from the present day, as in now, the 21st, century. When one day, she woke up not knowing what happened to her for one whole night, she doesn't know what to make of the until a year later, the same man she saw a year before came to get her, to save her, in fact. There, she ran away from these minions called Arachniman (I think..) who are trying to kill her.

Marcus - He is the one who went back to present day to save Maggie. Then, he took Maggie to the future, ( we don't know how far ) to work as a BCO member, like she originally was, and help save the world before it gets taken away by the bad guys.

A BCO member each have their own different role and different job. That's what I like about this book. Maggie is the Executioner  and Marcus is the Healer. Joan, Clay, Doc, and Karl all plays different roles. They make up a team, but this stop would be focusing on Clay. ;)

The Ending:
The ending actually left me wondering what would happen next and wanting for more. And I also begin to question who Maggie's brother really is.

Extra:
I'm doing a book report on this book....since the genre of my book report must be Science Fiction or Fantasy and this book was right in front of my face, so why not? Plus, I was too lazy to go the library. Our book report though, is to make a board game out of this book. (I'm dying over here...) So does anyone have any suggestions or ideas? (I hope asking for ideas isn't consider cheating) Thanks!

Rate: (1-10) 9!
;)

Interview with Clay:

First, I'll introduce who Clay is in the book. Clay is the Concealer of the group and he hides the team from being spotted completely. He is the shy and quiet person in the team, but does a huge job in advancing the team forward on missions.

1. Can you fully explain what your job as a Concealer is?

Of course. I’m Clay and that’s my role in the prophecy. In our world, everything is done with the mind, with what we call neurochemical abilities. Many can sense other people’s minds or neurochemical abilities, and dangerous people will lash out at them to incapacitate the person. I use my abilities to Conceal the minds of others. Basically, I just wrap a shield around the mind of the person I’m Concealing. It masks or blocks their neurochemical signature so that anyone searching won’t be able to find them that way. It doesn’t hide them physically from another person’s eyes, but if they stay out of sight, no one will even know they’re around.

2. What was your first impression of Maggie?

I love Maggie! She’s kind and intelligent and funny. A bit rebellious perhaps, but I’ve always been okay with that. She fit right in with the team. Mostly, though, she’s very decent. She senses right and wrong always ends up on the right side of things.

3. How old are you? (LOL just wondering…)

I’m twenty-two, which makes me one of the younger ones on the team. I’m married, though, and my wife is expecting our first child.

4. How did you get into the Brain Chemistry Optimists?

Actually it’s kind of in my blood. My family has been a part of the BCO since its founding. My parents and grand-parents grew up in it, as did I. My wife was the same way. We grew up together and hope to raise our children in this same life style—to fight against oppression.

5. What do you do in your free time when you’re not Concealing the team?

Naturally I spend as much time with my wife as possible. My best friends are the team members, so even when we aren’t working we tend to spend a lot of time together. Maggie and I were always especially close. I also art. I whittle and carve. I’m working on toys for when my child is born.

6. Is there any special place at heart that you want to go or do go in Interchroniter?

I would love to see the world. Don’t get me wrong, I love my home at Interchroniter, but it can be confining. It’s too dangerous to travel with the collective goons roaming around. I dream of the day when my child can walk across a mountain range and breathe the free air without fear of being absorbed by the collective.

7. Do you have any feelings for anyone?

Just my wife and unborn baby. Like I said, the team is all very close. We’re like close-knit brothers and sisters.

8. If you could go back in time and do something over again, what would it be?

I don’t have any major regrets in my lifetime, but given what happens on the island (I won’t spoil it for you) I guess if given the chance I’d just go back and make sure that I told everyone who was important to me how I felt about them. Life can change so suddenly and then all the chances you thought you’d always have can be gone.

9. Can you explain what this world in the future is like?

It’s kind of a scary place to live. The collectives are trying to force every person on the planet into collective living. Those of us who champion individualism are few and far-between. We have to keep ourselves hidden in order to be safe. The collective’s henchmen—known as Arachnimen and Trepids—constantly roam about looking for people to harm, torture, even kill if they can’t force them into the collective.

Yet, it’s not terrible for all that. Those of us who live in places like Interchron are strong in our cause. We stick together, help one another, and try to find happiness in our daily
lives. We have hope and a lot of it. It makes one feel very alive.

10. Finally, what do you think about all the other team members?

As I’ve said, they’re my family. Maggie is the most important one on the team. I don’t envy her task, even though she isn’t entirely certain what it will be yet. Doc is the leader and everyone looks to him as such. Karl and Marcus are the rocks of the team, though Karl is much less stoic than Marcus is. And Joan is the mother of the group. She keeps us calm, on task, and makes us get along. We’re all such different personalities, but we work well together.

Thanks so much for interviewing me today on In This World of Books. I’ve enjoyed being here!

Yay! That's the end of the interview! I hope you guys had fun meeting and learning more about Clay! And I also want to thank Clay for answering my questions ;)
