2014: Movie News Updates~

There are soooo many movies coming out this year~
that I need to emphasize on the sooo.

There was a giveaway hop for the books to movies
and I'm advertising it a bit too late, since it literally just ended.
You can find the hop HERE.

So this post is an update of more upcoming movies~
Or movies that came out the 2nd part of the 2014.
You can find my post about 2014 movies HERE.

Hope you enjoy~

1. The Giver

Okay. I haven't watched this one yet.
I don't think The Giver was as big of a blast as the others ones coming out. No one was really talking about it as much.

Maybe I'll decide to give this one a watch.
And Taylor Swift's in it. Haha. I don't know what to make of that.

For those who did watch it though, what did you think?

Release Date: August 15th, 2014

2. If I Stay

This one garnered a bit of attention.
I haven't watched this one yet either.
I'm a bit behind in my movie-watching schedule.

I recently just found out the girl is Chloe Moretz.
From the Teen Vogue magazine.
Okay...#random

What else can I say?
I thought the guy wasn't that attractive.
So if I do watch it, I hope they're acting is really good.

For those who did watch it, what did you guys think?

Release Date: August 22nd, 2014

3. The Maze Runner

This movie was already mentioned in the first post.
But that was because I was super excited for this one to come out~
The book was a fun read.
And BAE's in it~ :)
I'm talking about
DYLAN O'BRIEN.

Okay. So I did watch this one.
Kind of.
And well, I'll try to post the movie review later.

But yeah, action packed. AND I LOVE THE MAZE. I think it's like the best part of the movie. Besides seeing Dylan of course.

If you also saw The Maze Runner, what ya think?

Release Date: September 19th, 2014

4. Gone Girl

This one isn't a YA book, but it was mentioned a lot by bloggers and normal people alike.
Not trying to offend anyone. I meant normal people as in people who aren't as crazy about books as us. We're unique, not normal~

I actually read the book waay back in 7th grade and had absolutely no idea or interest to it.
Maybe because it was for a more mature audience.
And I liked romance. Not breakups and problems.

So of course, I didn't watch it yet.
Apparently, it just came out this month!
Wow! I'm really behind.

Did any of you guys watch this one?

Release Date: October 3rd, 2014

5. The Mockingjay Part 1

Can you believe it?
It's coming out in like a month!
Catching Fire was great, so I really hope Mockingjay really lives up to my expectations. :)

Trailer:

Release Date: November 21st, 2014

6. Other Honorable Mentions

There are some books that I didn't know became movies.

Avalon High (2010) and Ruby Red (2009).
And I literally just finished Avalon High.
<3 it~
Ruby Red is in German, so I watched the dubbed one.

---------

Okay. Of course, there's also 50 shades of grey...
but I don't promote erotica here, so...

I did watch the trailer though. Haha.
And the cover of Beyonce's song was pretty good.
Otherwise, I don't think I'm watching it.

What are some books to movies YOU'RE excited for?

Movie Revew: The Fault in Our Stars

Well, I'm a bit late in posting up a review,
but I'm doing it anyways. :)

Director: Josh Boone

Synopsis: Hazel and Gus are two teenagers who share an acerbic wit, a disdain for the conventional, and a love that sweeps them on a journey. Their relationship is all the more miraculous given that Hazel's other constant companion is an oxygen tank, Gus jokes about his prosthetic leg, and they met and fell in love at a cancer support group.

Cast:
Augustus Waters - I think Ansel Elgort made a great Gus. The personality was perfect, just as charming as I thought Gus would be. Playing the funny, outgoing guy definitely suited him. His acting was pretty good also. Overall, Elgort did a swell job. And he's tall. :)

Hazel Grace - I love her character! She's so chill and hilarious. The "take pot" scene is unforgettable. John Green created such an 'alive' character even though she's suffering through an illness. Plus, Shailene Woodley is a marvelous actress. I did like her better with long hair though, but I'm glad she went all out to look like Hazel.

Isaac - Nat Wolff. That's his name. I thought he was pretty cute in the movie. Despite only being a side character, he played a significant role in the movie. I love the part where he was breaking Gus' trophies. :D And that egging part. Haha!

The parents - I'll bunch them all in one, because I really can't tell the difference anymore. They were so perfect! I would love to have parents like them, easy-going. But I guess they're chill about things because of their son/daughter's sickness. And I probably don't want cancer. Or actually. I know I don't want cancer.

So I loved the characters. Moving on. Here's the slightly disappointed part.

I think the movie followed the book pretty well. They said everything straight from the book. And I'm not a complainer who likes to pick out every detail the movie missed or did wrong. I understand it has to be shorter and scenes had to be taken out.

I was really looking forward to seeing Hazel's best friend, whatever her name was. Christina? I think that was Divergent. And I didn't even spell her name right. Either way, I think Hazel's best friend spruced up things more, like fangirling over Gus. And discussing Gus' past. Also, it didn't make Hazel seem like an utter loner. It seemed like Hazel had no experience in making friends, whatever. The first friend she ever made since 13 was a boyfriend. This was the main thing I felt got left out.

These other missing details were pointed out by my friend, Emma. I didn't even notice these parts or even remembered it. But considering that she read the books like 3 times, I guess that makes sense.

- Augustus' ex-girlfriends: Apparently, it will have made better drama to have these girls show up. Now that you mention it, I would love for them to show up and make Hazel a little jealous. Plus, it'll be nice to actually show Gus' popularity. It will make him seem a little more hotter. :)

- The ending (exact words): The exact words of Hazel were supposed to 'I will, Gus' or something like that. Not 'okay.' Like the movie goes. Either way, I don't really remember how the ending goes. Both sayings is fine by me.

But I really liked that Anne Frank's place and Amsterdam. :) A real highlight in the movies. I bet Shailene and Ansel enjoyed that trip. HAHA.

Crying

Okay. I'm going to make a 'crying' topic, because for this movie, it is necessary. It's like part of the movie.

When I read the book, I actually didn't cry. I knew someone was going to die. Actually, I was really sure Hazel was going to die, cuz she started off like "Okay. I have cancer." But, as you might know, I was in for a surprise. I just didn't cry. Because towards the end, I kind of knew.

Watching a movie is different. It's like you're seeing it straight in front of your eyes. Maybe reading a book is like that too. Maybe I don't have enough imagination. But that's true. I cry so easily for books. Okay. Maybe throughout the whole time I was reading TFIOS, I was thinking 'This book is overrated' because everyone, I mean, EVERYONE was telling me to read it. And people are either saying "BEST BOOK EVER WRITTEN" or "This is overrated". So I kind of went with the "This is overrated" kind of attitude.

Not a good thing. But I guess it was better than I expected. At the same time, I really can't say best romance story of the century or something.

Okay. To the movie. When I was watching the movie, I obviously knew everyone that's going to happen, so I was like "Okay. I'm not going to cry." Then, of course, that didn't work. Because tears still came. And I totally wanted to cry. BUT THEN, my cousin kept on asking me "Are you crying yet?" or "Are you going to cry?" And that just TOTALLY ruined the moment. It's actually kind of embarrassing to cry in front of people. Plus, I was trying to pay attention to the movie. Ugh. SO, I did have tears in my eyes, but I didn't cry.

Movie News: 2014!

I haven't been talking about movies since awhile.
Well, besides that Divergent review.
But I'm not here to talk about Divergent.
At least not entirely.
There are many movies going to come out! OMG.
I just can't wait.
Because even though some of the 'movies based on books' may not the best movie ever, I still have to watch.
Just for the book. For the author.

OKAY. Let's move on.

1. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

I know. I know. Old news. BUT still. Even though it's part of 2013, there really aren't that much movies.
But it was good. Way good. A good starting stone.
AND I HAVE TO SAY, IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST FREAKIN' MOVIE THAT WAS BASED ON A BOOK EVER.
You guys can contradict me if you wish. LOL. If you find a better one. Be sure to tell me!
I mean, this is like the only movie I can ever say was better than the book. Forreal though.
Jennifer Lawrence. You go girl.
Loved this one.

2. Divergent

Yep. The second one. Divergent.
Was there a movie in between Catching Fire and Divergent.
At least not that I know of.
After Catching Fire, the next movie I watched was Frozen.
SO..... quite unrelated to books.
But I would love to talk about it! Just message. Somehow. LOL. If that isn't too creepy.
Either after Catching Fire, the next book movie I watched was Divergent. And I just had a review on it.
Theo James. So fine.
Okay. Done. Next movie.

3. The Fault in Our Stars

Now this is what I'm talking about for MOVIE NEWS.
The ones not released yet! Duh!
#TFIOS
JUST CANNOT WAIT.
That book though. *tears.
Omg. I just can't.
From Divergent, I know Shailene is a pretty good actress. She may not be like super duper goddess great, but she's amazing enough.
Ansel Elgort. He doesn't really appear that much in Divergent.
But all's well.
I don't despise him.
I thought he was actually cute though.
At least in some angles.
I truly did not think Augustus would look like Ansel.
To me, Gus would be the kind that looks like he would those guys riding motorcycles.
Welps. At least, we can see him more.
Okay.
Move on to some movie infos:

Release Date: June 6th, 2014!

Trailer:

No huge emotions now. Yet.
But we'll see when time gets closer.

For those who haven't read THE FAULT IN OUR STARS:
GO READ IT! What are you waiting for?
Even if you don't like movies.
Or all kinds of books.
Or anything.
Just go read it.
:)
Please.
I'm not begging though.

4. The Maze Runner

So I saw the trailer for this movie when I was watching Divergent.
Just. Gosh. It looks good.
Not gonna lie. Not trying to be biased or anything.
But I really love the maze.
So real.
So how I imagined it.
And truly. Dylan O'Brien can make a good Thomas.
Cuz everyone at school is just fangurlin over Dylan O'Brien.
Cuz of Teen Wolf. And I still don't watch that.
But at least I can finally fangirl about Dylan O'Brien after this movie with them. I hope.
So far, there isn't that much information. But the release date and trailer is definitely out. And cast characters. You wanna know?

Release Date: September 19th, 2014.

Trailer:

Yes. I'm talking about this trailer. Oh. Look at Dylan O'Brien. And yes. I just have to say his full name. Just because. I don't know him that well yet to use first name basis. LOL. Jk.

Cast:
Thomas - Dylan O'Brien
Teresa - Kaya Scodelario
Gally - Will Poulter
It's that guy from We're the Millers. Hilarious.
Newt - Thomas Sangster
Alby - Aml Ameen

Okay. That was the short list of casts.
And I'm not fretting over that release date cuz there's still TFIOS coming out in only 3 months. And since we're talking movies, MALEFICENT.
Yes. Definitely watching some Angelina Jolie there.

5. Eleanor & Park

Did you think that was it?
Apparently not.
There's Eleanor & Park!
Okay. Maybe there isn't anything set yet.
Like no movie poster. No cast. No release date.
But it's official!
And this is for those who haven't heard about this good news yet! :)
But the movie's probably gonna be set for 2015.
No worries tho. Tons of movies coming out. In a row.
Yo estoy muy contenta.
You see how much I learn in Spanish 1? :)

Tons of great, great movies coming out.
Super exciting.
And if you guys hear about some other movies. TELL ME. I wasn't trying to be threatening. It just came out that way. Sorry.
Like forreal. Tell me. Please. Cuz I wanna know. :)
For the sake of my movie obsessions.
Haha.

Thanks for reading~
Stay tuned for more news~

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones MOVIE Fandom

OMG. THIS MOVIE WAS SO PERF<3 ! I TAKE BACK WHAT I SAID ABOUT NOT REALLY FANGURLING AS MUCH DURING THE MOVIE. CUZ I WAS FANGURLING AS HECK DURING THE MOVIE. OMG. OMG. THOSE FAB FAB FAB SCENES.

Yee. My super fangurl side coming out. I must say, the director of this movie was pretty good. And even better. THE 'JACE' IN THE MOVIE DIDN'T MAKE ME DISLIKE HIM. AT ALL. LIKE I THOUGHT I WOULDN'T LIKE THE MOVIE VERY MUCH. Just because. And then I freakin loved it.

OF COURSE, my traitor friend watched it the first time without me, but I can't blame her for it. I watched this  on August 24th, 2013. And this post comes out about 2 and half weeks later, because post is scheduled. LOL.

BUT YEAH. IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED IT, I HOPE IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO WATCH IT YET! :) The DVD comes out somewhere between November and December. I'm definitely buying that movie. Yeah. It's how good it is.

Omg. Sadly though, I found TMI even better than the Percy Jackson movie. But nothing's better than Logan Lerman's face. Gosh. But like Jace was sooo freakin hot. aahh. Like just that cape thing made him hot. Omg. Omg. I usually mind British accents. But then I didn't care about Jamie's accent. And MAGNUS BANE! DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ABOUT MAGNUS. OMG. Okay. Okay. I think I should start talking about the characters now.

Characters:

Jace Wayland - Jamie Campbell Bower

So as ya'll may know, I wasn't really ecstatic about Jamie playing Jace at first. Just cuz. I felt like Jace wasn't like Jamie. I got the sense from the book that Jace was of the golden boy. With short hair. Even though it may have been long and shaggy. I really don't go for shaggy looks. Like forreal. But then Jamie though. Kind of changed it. He acted really good.

Either way, Jace Wayland was pretty fulfilled by Jamie. Except the movie Jace wasn't as cocky as the book Jace, that talked more. The movie Jace was definitely more mysterious though. And was hotter than I expected in the book. Whooppeee. As long as the guy character is good, the movie is good. LOL.

Although I did say Jamie is so freakin hot in the movie, I don't really know what I'll think of him outside the movie. Like Jamie is really funny and outgoing but then Logan is still my fav. Sorry, Jamie. But then, like I'll forever fandom Jamie and The Mortal Instruments. Cuz he made like the freakin best Jace ever

Clary Fray - Lily Collins

Okay. I spent the last few paragraphs basically repeating everything, so I'll try to make this shorter. Lily. Hmmm. She was a good actress and all. And cool. I think she fulfilled a Clary very well. She acted very well indeed. AND CLARY AND JACE IN THE MOVIE WAS LIKE PERFECTION.

:) I actually liked the female character. So whoppeee, more success to the movie~

Simon Lewis - Robert Michael Sheehan

Okay. Simon was hot in the movie. Yes. Yes, he was. But real life, I don't like his afro. But either way, I liked Simon. He was funny. But we didn't get to him transform to a vampire or anything. So. Yeah. But Simon was coolio. :)

He was a bit of a cock blocker, but then I enjoyed him being there. :)

Alec Lightwood - Kevin Zegers

Alec was cool. I mean, I really did like Alec. I felt like he sort completed the story. Alec would be someone that reminds you of home. Like a home sort of feeling and atmosphere.

I dunno. Even though he didn't like Clary, I liked him being there for Jace and everything. Yeah.

Kevin Zegers looks really old in real life, even though he's not. But either way, he has the hotness vibes.

Isabelle Lightwood - Jemima West

Omg. YOu GO, GURL. Isabelle is so hot in the movie. Like amazing. She's like the take-charge hot woman warrior, yet sexy at the same time. Gee. If I was a shadowhunter, I would totally treat her as a saint. Omg. PERFECT. Like if Clary had her personalities, she would had been on fire.

I like Clary as she is though. And we need a character like Isabelle. :) Yes. I thought Isabelle was okay in the book. But in the movie, Isabelle protected Simon a lot. And liked saved people's lives. And just like, she's cool.

Valentine Morgenstern - Jonathon Rhys Meyers

Valentine wasn't as ugly as I thought he should be.
Because he's the bad guy. He should be ugly. And there wasn't any hot descriptions of him in the book.

But either way, I was actually surprised that Valentine wasn't ugly. I mean. Yeah. He is hot. But isn't like JACE HOT. OR like my definition of hot. But you can certainly describe him as hot.

I'm just confusing myself. Anyways, I think Jonathon did a pretty good job, even though he didn't really show up much till the end.

Magnus Bane - Godfrey Gao

Can't believe I almost forgot about him. Like him. Omg. Magnus Bane was sooooo hot in the movie. And just plain hilarious. Magnus wasn't the mysterious Jace hot. He was the sassy hot. Yeah.

Godfrey's makeup though. Just shows us what Magnus Bane is like. And Magnus is really funny. He most definitely perked the movie up. Not saying other things didn't. But yeah. That was one damn sassy Warlock though.

Mhmmm.

Yeah. Finally. Finished with characters. Since I talked like soo much. SOOO MUCH. I might as well end it.

One more thing though. The ending, hmmm was pretty good. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER THOUGH IF THE MOTORCYCLE FLEW. BUT I liked it anyways. :) And I really need to mention that kiss scene. Woah.

I mean, I'm not a perv or anything, but that kiss scene was so freakin sexy. LOL. And CUTE. I can't believe Jamie and Lily had already broken up filming that. They should totes go back together.

Weeee~ Yeah. FANDOM with me guys~ If you have time, I can still fandom for a long long time. LOL. :)
