Free Online Books

Hey so I've been browsing the Internet, does that even sound right? So anyways, for those who never read Delirium or Pandemonium or some other good books and don't own a copy, I found this website with the book. Then you can rant on with us about how good it is. Although reading from the computer is nothing compared to a book, it's better than nothing. You also download an ebook on the website. I'm sorry to say there's not Divergent, therefore I couldn't read it.
The website below leads to Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver, but you can search up other books on the Search bar or look at the books that readers also read column. Have fun!
http://www.epubbud.com/book.php?g=7TX6XF66
Sorry. I couldn't link that up via iPod but I'll fix it when I get on the computer.
See. If you just stick with our long book reviews and crazy fandoms, you might actually get something good out of this. Really good booky places. ;)

The Authors are Meeting Up!

Ha. Don't get too excited. It's not a public event. It's not any famous authors. You probably won't know them unless you're reading this blog. And I don't even know why I'm posting this. Since this is between the authors of THIS blog. Yep. We're finally meeting up for the summer! The first time since we started the blog! I felt like I needed to post something so. ......yeah.

Cindy's Book Review: The Forbidden Sea by Sheila A. Nelson

The Forbidden Sea by Sheila A. Nelson.
Book Summary: When, one stormy night, a mermaid comes to take Adrianne Keynnman's sister, Cecily, down into the depths of the sea, Adrianne knows she must fight with every ounce of her strength to protect her little sister. On land, Adrianne toils away, trying to eke out a living for her mother, sister, and aunt, after a tragic accident stole her father. Now, life takes a strange and frightening turn as Adrianne's dreams are filled with the mermaid's singing.
When it becomes clear that it isn't Cecily the mermaid wants, Adrianne wonders how she can protect her family from their superstitious island community as the mermaid attempts to lure her into the sea, night and day.
In this powerful tale of heartache and redemption, a girl born on land must choose between the promise of an underwater paradise and her loyalty to those she loves.

Cindy's Summary: They forgot the most important part of the story. That is the person who leads to what Adrianne's decision is. To stay underwater as a princess living in paradise or living on land, doing hard work and suffering her aunt's wrath, but living with her love ones. Since it was all summarized, I might as well skip all the repetitions I'm going to say.

I've got to say, from the summary the book gives us, it doesn't sound that interesting. It actually made me cry a few times. Maybe I'm just an easy-crying person. So, really, while Adrianne gets the blame of losing the family's money and gets teased by village boys of her short hair and her aunt absolutely just hates her, she works night and day for the family's money while her younger sister gets spoiled. Seriously, I cried for her that time.

Anyways, because I'm feeling bored. And LAZY. I'll just do the quotes now.

"Her grasp was firm but gentle --- then she jerked, hard."
I've got to say...."OUCH!"

"It had to be Denn Young. He was the only one who called me Adri."
The love of her life appears! I like his name though.

" 'It's taken you an awful long time to recover, Adrianne.' "
Grr....that aunt is horrible.

"Auntie's tone became soft and cajoling in an instant."
Well, it's not like Cecily is a mean person, she cares about her sister but that aunt is just...ahhh..

"What Auntie meant was there wasn't enough for me to have taste."
Adrianne had just starved for three days! And while Cecily is happily eating, Adrianne can't. Seriously, I hate that aunt.

"Not even Denn notice me go."
So Denn is like two years older than Adrianne and he thinks of her as his younger sister. As of now, Denn likes this stuck-up rich, pretty girl called Cora Lynn Dunst. Ugh. Even her name sounds stuck-up.

"....that noble idiot."
That phrase actually sounds like a compliment. Maybe I should start using that now.

"When that day of reckoning came, I took the blame of everything --- and Mama let me."
The mom so weak and stuff, not even protecting her daughter. The mom should be doing the work, not the daughter!!!! Grr...

"I knew why Mother promised the locket to Cecily instead of me."
Even the stupid mother chose Cecily and Adrianne was the one who did everything for her.

"Then she slapped me..."
Ouuu..that aunt!!! But there's a reason and I won't tell you why.

Well, after Liana's blast posts about Delirium and Pandemonium, I have nothing to say, only.

I TOLD YOU IT WAS GOOD!!!

Graceling by Kristin Cashore- How far does my fandom take me?

Heey guys. I spent this whole entire afternoon working on this video. And it was worth it! Even if I did plan to finish Sunlight and Shadow by Cameron Dokey TODAY. :c I sacrificed reading for this video. But it was enjoyable. Yes it did take a whole afternoon due to the irritating freezing Windows Movie Maker provided. AHEM. Okay, so. Hope you enjoy it! <3 For people who haven't read Graceling yet, here's my persuasion video. (:

And that will be all. Bye! ;D

Without Tess by Marcella Pixley Book Review

Without Tess by Marcella Pixley.
Book Review by Cindy. ;)
Book Description: If you look inside Lizzie Cohen's high school locker, you will see that her world is falling apart. First you will find the unfinished homework assignments and crumpled tests with failing grades and furious teacher comments scrawled in red pen. Then you will see the crushed coffee cups and half-eaten bags of chips. Look closer. On the top shelf, beneath an old sweater, she is hiding something. A secret.
It is a battered journal that used to belong to her older sister, Tess, who died six years ago when they were little girls. It is filled with Tess's poems and sketches, a record of time long ago when Lizzie almost believed in magic - back when she did everything her sister asked her to do, even if it meant putting herself in danger. The journal is also an account of one child's mind teetering on the brink between make-believe and something much more frightening and serious -  and of a time when Lizzie was ready to grow up but Tess when still clinging to her belief in magic like it was the only thing in the world that mattered.
Now Lizzie is using the journal to come to terms with the terrible guilt of her own survival. She will need to learn that sometimes growing up means letting go - even if that means saying goodbye forever.

Cindy's Summary: This book is like really sad. I cried numerous of times during it. Even though there were no romance, and the book was mainly about Lizzie getting over her sister, the book talks about when Lizzie and Tess were younger and Tess have a mental problems which led her to believe magic was real and Tess was delusional. Tess makes Lizzie follow her and if Lizzie didn't believe it was true, Tess hurt Lizzie. Because, Tess thought that she was immortal and didn't want to eat anything, Tess's parents always worried about Tess and as Lizzie was the younger girl, the baby, she felt like her parents cared about Tess more. I cried for Lizzie when she said that, because it's kind of true. I mean, their mom is always rocking Tess to sleep and stuff and Lizzie just sat there. So Lizzie felt so terrible when Tess ended up drowning underwater. If I was Lizzie, I'd probably just end up killing myself and say, Now what, You have Tess all to yourself now, have a nice life. Either ways, it's really sad. And, I hate the part where Tess stabbed Lizzie's hand and then after they got home, Tess wanted Lizzie to give her warm water. Lizzie went unconscious while Tess just slept. It was a really sad book. But there were like one page of romance, but it was out of sadness. Either way, normally, I wouldn't like books without romance, but this book is a huge exception.

Rate: (1-10): 9.8

Now, to quotes.
"I'll never let you go, Lizzie. No matter what happens to me, I"ll never ever let you go."
At first, when I read that, I felt really sad for Lizzie because Lizzie kept on remembering that phrase and I actually though Tess was sane then, turns out she's insane. Not that I hate Tess, since you can't help it if you were born with the problem.

"I leave them on the dock, Mamma rocking Tess while she eats and Daddy looking on with tears in his eyes."
See what I mean? Lizzie's like forgotten. Really, I would just have run away and killed myself or something.

" 'Did you hear me Lizzie? I'm thirsty.' ......Everything goes black."
Yep. That part I explained about already. Tess just stabbed Lizzie's hand and wants Lizzie to do stuff for her. While Lizzie's on the floor, Tess sleeps like a princess.

" 'When we found you both, you were lying unconscious by her bed and Tess was fast asleep, snoring like a princess.' "
Seriously, you'd probably think Lizzie's the older sister.

"Hurt feelings are nothing compared to the unicorn horn going into the palm of my hand. They are nothing compared to passing out and hitting my head on a cold floor while my sister sleeps like a princess."
I agree. Really. Finally, Lizzie actually sees some sense and goes against her sister.

" ' You mean it was a suicide.' "
Yep. Tess decided to suicide and took Lizzie along too....

This book is so meaningful and sad. I cried like heck. But anyways, it's pretty good. And there is a full on half a page romance because both of them loved Tess and they starting making out. ha. I know. It was near the end.

The Glass Swallow by Julia Golding Book Review

The Glass Swallow by Julia Golding.Book Review by Cindy Mai.Book Summary: Rain has a secret that threatens her whole world. Rain designs exquisite stained glass for the windows of her city. But the law is clear: it is forbidden for girls to be part of the glassmakers' guild. To keep her secret hidden, Rain leaves home and travels to a strange new country. Her trip becomes a nightmare when bandits attack and she is abandoned in a society on the edge of disaster. To survive, she must discover new strengths in herself and seek out the other people that this society has scorned, including a young falconer who is one of the "untouchables." The Glass Swallow is a companion book to Julia Golding's acclaimed novel Dragonfly.
Cindy's Summary: So, basically, Rain lives with her father who makes and designs glass windows and Rain does the same, but girls aren't allowed to do that. Then, the King and Queen of Holt......ahhh!!! It's Ramil and Taoshira from Dragonfly!!!! I love that book!!!!!......wanted an apprentice of Master Torrent, Rain's father to go to the palace and design some windows, but none of the apprentice wants to travel the long and dangerous journey to the city. So, it was decided that Rain travel with her cousin, Shadow with an ambassador, but everything goes wrong when bandits attacked the group and killed everyone including the ambassador and his wife and her cousin, Shadow. The bandits killed everyone, except Rain and took her to the leader of the bandits. Luckily, she was saved by a Magharnan scavenger, Peri Falconer, one of the untouchables. Peri leaves her with the city officials who told her to become a servant since it would be a very long time until she can go home. Unfortunately, Magharnan was like in ruins, especially when bandits attacked again, the Master of the city disappeared, leaving all citizens in desperate position with no food and shelter and with bandits roaming freely on the streets, all except the scavengers. The scavengers have food and shelter and everything they need. Peri Falconer, felt sorry for leaving Rain by herself, so he sets off to save her. So along with Rain came Mikel, an old, bondsman Rain came to know and a little boy who named himself Retsam, which was Master backwards, since he was really the Master until his advisors all left him alone. Peri's mother liked everyone Peri brought home, except for Rain, saying she was trouble. Rain, then decided to go the bandit leader, Krital to persuade him to help establish order again in Magharnan. Along the way, of course, Rain fell in love with Peri and such......yep. I shall end it like this.
Rate: (1-10): 9.9See, this book really isn't bad, since all Julia Golding books aren't bad. But I really think Dragonfly have more adventure. For some reason, Dragonfly is really like the book Fire by Kristen Cashore.... I spelled her name right this time. I really love Dragonfly.
I"ll go to the quotes  now." 'Perhaps.' unable to resist, he dipped his head down and stole a ________."Guess what happened. it's quite romantic. .___.
"A tender feeling uncurled inside Rain when she realized what he had said."This wasn't a love at first sight thing, but they fell in love pretty fast. Still it was cute, though he sounded more like a teacher. LOL.
"If the Master wasn't careful, he was in danger of developing a serious crush on the little glassmaker."Oooo...Peri's actually describing himself. So he's jealous already......
"The fisherman looked at Peri's hand. To touch it would be breaking a thousand taboos."See, Peri is special, an untouchable by citizens. BTW, taboos are rules/laws.
"Rain did not pull away when he circled her loosely with his arms."They're so romantic already.
" 'Aw, yuck!'  " Ha! Caught!
"Peri's arrow hit Rain high on the shoulder."There was also an arrow in Dragonfly. It's best when the boy is worried that the girl is hurt.
" 'Yes.' "That yes basically means "I do." Get it?

It's a romantic book, but it doesn't beat Dragonfly. Dragonfly was more like hate at first sight. LOL.

Palace of Mirrors by Margaret Peterson Haddix Book Review

Palace of Mirrors by Margaret Peterson Haddix.
Book Review by Cindy Mai.
Book Summary: "Somewhere in the world I have a tiara in a little box. It is not safe for me to wear it. . . . It is not safe for me even to tell anyone who I really am. But I know - I have always known."
Cecilia knows that she is not just another peasant girl; she is actually the true princess, in hiding until the evil forces that killed her parents are vanquished. A commoner named Desmia is on the throne as a decoy.
As she gets older, Cecilia finds it harder to study statesmanship and palace protocol secretly at night and then pretend that she has nothing on her mind other than scrubbing the gruel stains out of her best apron by day.
Cecilia knows that it is time to take charge. Along with her best friend, Harper, she flees to the capital city, determined to reclaim her throne and face the danger head on.
When Harper and Cecilia reach the famed Palace of Mirrors, they discover complications: Princess Desmia believes an entirely different version of the story.
Acclaimed author Margaret Peterson Haddix returns tot he charmed world of Just Ella, where a princess-in-hiding and a pretender to the throne discover that nothing is as it appears.

Cindy's Summary: So basically, Cecilia believes that she is really a princess, and she is in hiding because someone murdered the king and queen and so Sir Stephen is teaching her secretly in a small village. Cecilia decides to go the capital city, Cortona with her best friend, Harper, who wanted to run away from his mum and harp lessons. When they get there, they pretended to be in a musical contest to meet Princess Desmia. Desmia doesn't believe her and shuts both of them in a prison in a high tower. That's when they met Ella, another princess from another country and realizes that there are 11 other "princesses" and "Sir _______" in the dungeon. Together, Desmia, Ella, Cecilia, and Harper work together to find out who is sinister to keep the princesses and knights in the dungeon and try to take over the kingdom.

Ok. This is like a little nice story. Hey. I got this hardcover book for $3.00, so it's a good thing! There is actually a little romance in the book, not as much of Fire and Legend, of course. I just can't get enough of those books. But, yep. No quotes today, since I just didn't do them. I guess this can be the short post. ;)

Baii. Cindy.

A Comment About Cindy's Currently Reading....

I kind of use this thing more as Cindy Read......since I don't usually change what I'm reading until I"m actually doing a book review about the book I just changed it. LOL. So don't be surprised. Anyways, that's all I've got to say. Sometimes, if I don't feel lazy, maybe I'll change when I'm actually reading the book. You'll know if I'm lazy or not. LOL

Fire by Kristin Cashore Book Review

Fire by Kristin Cashore.
Book Review by Cindy Mai.
Book Teaser: It is not a peaceful time in the Dells. Young King Nash clings to the throne, while revel lords, in the north and south, build armies to unseat him. War is coming. The mountains and forests are filled with spies and thieves. This is where where Fire lives, a girl whose startling appearance is impossibly irresistible and who can control the minds of everyone around her. Everyone . . . except Prince Brigan.

Note about the two book covers: Although I read from the one above, I like the second book cover better where Fire's hair and dress blows and ruffles in the wind,
holding a bow being so cool and awesome.

Cindy's Summary: So Fire is a monster, just like her father Cansrel, but Cansrel is evil and he uses his power to torture people and make people do his bidding. In this book, monsters are stunningly beautiful and can take control of minds. Fire is the opposite of her father, and wishes not to harm others, therefore, she staged her father's death and pretended it was a suicide. She was like only fifteen or sixteen when she did that and then she started living under the protection of her best friend, Lord Archer and his father, Lord Brocker. Lord Archer and Fire are supposedly lovers, but Fire finds him too overprotective and overwhelming. One day, Archer decided to go to Queen Roen's fort to get more soldiers and more information about the kingdom and Fire decided to go with him. They knew Queen Roen  very well, and that was when Fire met Roen's sons, King Nashdell and his army commander, Prince Brigandell. King Nash, fell over himself to get to Fire and like basically, rape her in kisses, while Prince Brigan guarded her with coldness, because her father, Cansrel had made the kingdoms in ruins. King Nash had wanted Fire to go to King's City to help him go into enemies' minds and get information from them, and Fire wanted to go see where her mother lived and died and the wonders of the city. When got to the city, Fire faced the rest of the royal family, Princess Clara, Prince Garan, and lastly, Prince Brigan's five-year-old daughter, Princess Hanna. Lady Fire, had her own guards, Musa, Mila, Margo, and Neel everywhere she went and she also has to face King Nash's over-affectionate towards her and Archer's jealousy. Luckily, Fire and Prince Brigan had become more friendly towards each other. Fire started helping the kingdom find out information and plan how to get rid of the two enemy groups, Lord Genetian and Lord Mydogg.I know, weird name. So yep. And there is an absolute lot of romance.

Rate: (1-10): 10!!!
I feel like this is the best book out of the Graceling series.
Bitterblue was just wasn't what I expected it to be. No offense. I just really didn't like it. It was kind of boring, too.

There must be like a thousand of quotes, but I'll just state a few.

"Even when she did not like Archer, she loved him."
I kind of find Archer annoying and he wants Fire all to himself. I even find King Nash better than him, even if King Nash tries to kiss Fire. But he had a sad ending. And no, I did not cry, Liana. I didn't understand why you would.

" 'Show the slightest interest in befriending the king,' he said, 'and I will kill you.' "
That was Brigan. His coldness to Fire. But really, he gentler than he sounds.

"If Brigan would ever let her, if he would ever in a million years, she could ease his worries for him."
Fire's slowly falling for him. Not that she realizes it. Brigan's actually as old as you think of a commander. He's only 22, so that means Nash is only 27. I know, 22 with a 6-year-old daughter. But we haven't gotten there yet.

I really don't feel up to putting more quotes, or else it'll go to a thousand pages, so why not just read the book and find out all the romantic-ness it has in it. And Archer's jealousy and who Fire ended up with. It's just so romantic. And they're all so young.

So read the book. Trust me, it's AMAZING!

- Cindy ;)

For Fans of Rick Riordan

As you may know, the third book, The Mark of Athena, of the Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan is coming out fall of 2012 and Rick Riordan has shared Chapter One of The Mark of Athena here. So, I wanted to share that with you guys since you know how exciting it is to read a preview before it's out. Yep. That's my exciting news for the fans of Rick Riordan ;) That includes me.
Spoiler? Ish? Not really, just read the here first before this.
Well, Chapter One only talks about Annabeth's point of view and stops a dead stop where the Greeks would greet the Romans, so we don't exactly get very much out of it, but still. It helps......

Variant by Robison Wells Book Review

Variant by Robison Wells.
Book Review by Cindy.
Book Summary: Benson Fisher thought that a scholarship to Maxfield Academy would be the ticket out of his dead-end life.
He was wrong.
Now he's trapped in a school that's surrounded by a razor-wire fence. Aschool where video cameras monitor his every move. Where there are no adults. Where the kids have split into group in order to survive.
Where breaking the rules equal death.
But when Benson stumbles upon the school's real secret, he realizes the playing by the rules could spell a fate worse than dearth, and that escape - his only real nope for survival - may be impossible.

Cindy's Summary:I heard Variant was pretty good. Whoever said it wasn't wrong, but Variant is surprisingly a lot like The Maze Runner by James Dashner. I mean, the characters are both trapped and couldn't get out with no adults anywhere and kids have leaders to lead the group. Both main characters, Benson and Thomas wants to escape their prison and both prison sends down needs through a closet or box of them sort. Both prisons are used for experimenting. There's romance, adventure, and determination. Except, Variant have three different groups that goes against each other instead of one large group ruled by one leader like The Maze Runner. They also different settings: Variant takes place at a closed-up school while The Maze Runner takes place at a cave-like thing. Benson also have his memory. So yep. Basically this kind of sums up my summary without repeating the book's summary. Well, there's a part where Benson finds out the girl he hangs out with and become friends with benefits with is actually an android.

Rate: (1-10): 8.8

So let's see, I kind of see a love triangle going on in the ending. I mean, Jane, the android girlfriend isn't actually dead and Benson escaped with Becky. So, whose Benson going to chose? Well, for once, I actually want Benson (the guy/girl) with Becky (the 2nd boy/girl) instead of Jane (the 1st boy/girl). In all the other love triangles, I wanted the boy/girl with their 1st love for some reason. I hope I'm not biased because Jane is an android, but Becky is like more gentle and I don't know, even though her authority was way higher than Benson's, she's actually nice and talks to Benson.

Some examples I wanted the love triangles with the first boy/girl. So first, The Maze Runner, I really wanted Thomas to end up with Teresa. If you haven't read The Death Cure (The Maze Runner Trilogy #3), I won't tell you who he ended up with. Second, in Matched by Ally Condie, I really want Cassia to end up with Xander. Ky doesn't seem that appealing to me for some reason. I mean, perfect Xander is in front of her, why can't she see that? Then, she have to be all making out with Ky right in front of Xander. Gahh...... The third book, Reached isn't out yet, so I don't know who Cassia ended up with. Third, Delirium or Pandemonium, in this case, had this major cliffhanger triangle, which I already talked in my previous posts, about Lena and Alex. Yep, I really want Lena with Alex. Let's see, there's The Hunger Games. I originally wanted Peeta with Katniss, but everyone is like with the Peeniss crap and fighting over it, so I'm forget this shit, I'll go with Gale instead. Then, after that, I just really didn't care. I can't of any other exciting love triangles, so I'll move on to quotes.

"The fence was probably twelve feet tall, topped with a spool of razor wire, like the kind of repo lots and prisons."
You don't know how right you are, Benson.

" ' We can't get out of here.' "
Oh, Benson, why didn't you just escape then?

" ' We don't have a principal' ..... ' We don't have teachers, and we don't have counselors.' "
Scary school, I would have left just right there.

" Maxfield wasn't just a prison. It hid what it was doing, seeking out students who had no ties, no homes."
 That's like kidnapping....

" 'When people go to detention, they don't come back.' "
 See, their punishment is death.

"I was trapped in a prison, and I had to wear a chip? Were they going to track me?"
Yep.

" 'This school have some problems.' "
 Obviously.

" 'We're not the gang. We're the Society' "
So the Society is the biggest of the three groups and they had chose to listen to whoever is experimenting with them.

" 'You should join Havoc because......' "
Havoc is the second largest group of the three and they're like a gangster group who especially break rules.

" ' We're the Variants' ......'The other two gangs are playing the game.' "
So Benson ended joining the Variants, because Variants is the group that took all the leftovers or who doesn't agree with the two other groups, or just want to escape. Variant is also the smallest group and an interesting fact is that Becky, whose in Society, started the Variant.

" 'At night we lock the closet, and i the morning the new stuff is in there.' "
See, just like in The Maze Runner with the box.

" 'This is our version of high school sports. Paintball, war games, debate chess.' ....'It's like the nerds meet the military.' "
The only game that actually sounds fun is paintball although paintball hurts and could get violent.

"There were dozens of graves, at least."
Yep. There's a graveyard. People die there.

"I had to escape."
 His new determination to escape.

"Things would be different now."
Benson just totally changed the 'school' by showing others about the androids.

" 'I thought you died. I thought we both did.' "
I won't tell you who said it, but it is so confusing. How could she even be alive? There, that was a clue. You probably could already guess who is it.

It think Feedback (Variant Trilogy #2) is out too. I'll see if it's in the library.

Oh. I did say I'll post this tomorrow, but Liana was bothering me about only posting a small paragraph for the week and I already finished the book, so I posted it early. ;) If I finish another book by tomorrow, I can post one tomorrow.

Someone Dies, Someone Lives by Lurlene McDaniel Book Review

Someone Dies, Someone Lives by Lurlene McDainel.
Book Review by Cindy Mai.
Book Teaser:: You don't know me, but I know about you....I can't make you live longer, I can't stop you from hurting. But I can give you one wish, as someone did for me.
Katie O'Roark feels miserable, even though she knows she's incredibly lucky to have received an anonymous gift. Still, the money can't buy her a new heart or bring her back to her track-star days. When a donor is found with a compatible heart, Katie undergoes transplant surgery. While recuperating, she meets Josh Martel and senses an immediate connection. When Katie decides to start training to attain her dream of running again, Josh helps her meet the difficult challenge. Will Katie find the strength physically and emotionally to live to become a winner again?

Cindy's Summary: This book basically talks about a girl called Katie, who suddenly got sick and found out she has cardiomyopathy, which means a virus attacked the heart and destroyed it. Near that time, Josh Martel's older brother, Aaron, was playing a football game when he suddenly fell onto the ground. Apparently, he had aneurysm in his brain, which was the rupture of a major blood vessel, and Aaron died before hitting the ground. Since, Aaron had such a healthy body and his organs are in fit shape, Josh and his grandpa had decided to donate Aaron's organs to those in need. Since Katie's dad is a newspaper reporter, her dad wrote a column about her and the organs donation program, saying thanks to the donor for his dear daughter's new heart. Josh saw the newspaper and immediately knew that Katie's new heart is Aaron's heart, so he started visiting Katie in the hospital.
Katie and Josh met and started talking to each other, knowing more about each other and Aaron. Apparently, there is something called the Transplant Olympics, for those who had an organ transplantation   could go compete against others, like in an Olympic. Katie really wanted to be in the Transplant Olympics, since she was a track-star and she loved running, so she started training with Josh. So everything goes great, until suddenly, Katie's body is rejecting her new heart.......that means going back to the hospital and starting the treatments again. For Josh, he feels like Aaron would died a second time if Katie died, since he had grown quite close with Katie.

Rate:(1-10): 7.8

Lurlene McDaniel writes really sad books. One of my book recommendation, the one about the girl who had cancer was by her. Yep, those books make me cry. So anyways, I see how Liana did that bookmartk things for the quotes. That's how she can find so much quotes, so I decided to try. It's cool looking and I have like a lot of quotes, or more than the ones I used to do, since I used to have to look for the quotes. So let's get started:

"Melody reminded her too much of the 'normal' world she'd had to leave behind months before:
It's so totally sad.....it's like being an invalid or something. BTW, Melody is Katie's best friend.

"......but unless a miracle happens, I won't be running track again."
So totally sad......leaving your dream behind.

"Katie's only real hope is a heart transplant....."
Seems like the world is ending for her.

"Seems weird to be waiting for someone to die so that I can live, doesn't it?"
That actually makes sense though. It's like being reborn.Old age, new life, but in this case.....it's not.

" ' Your brother's dead, son. He died before he hit the ground.' "
Gosh.....bad news, you gotta feel bad for Josh.

" 'How do I know if I'm alive?' .......... 'It's like falling in love,Katie' "
Oh, really, being alive is like falling in love? Gosh, I guess we should be grateful then.

" 'Life stinks,' Josh said..."
 Hey, I agree.....

"The nurse touched his arm. 'She's your girlfriend, isn't she?"
 Errr....no, she's some stranger whose got my brother's heart......xD

"Overwhelmed, he felt a tear escape and trickle down his cheek. His eyes flew open when he felt Katie's finger brush it tenderly."
Well, nice romantic moment here....even though Josh is crying for his brother.

" 'Will I have a new scar after each biopsy?'    'Yes.'     'That stinks. I'll look like Dracula's girlfriend.'
Great humor......but that really does stinks.

" 'So, here we are, two strangers brought together by a guy who never had anything to say about it."
That's actually very complicated and sad.

" 'You can either help me train or stay out of my life.' "
Harsh.....but she got herself a boyfriend. xD

" 'Is it like kissing your brother?' she teased, pulling slightly back.    'Not even close,' "
Har har, told you they ended up together.

"She could see the finish line, could feel the victory......"
You go, girl! Rock on!

" 'I'm sick, Mom,' she said. 'You'd better call the doctor.' "
Story flash, it might not be the happy ending you're expecting after all.

" 'If it doesn't work, promise me you'll look out for Josh....that you'll take care of him, be a family to him' ..........' And the rest of the Wish money...see that it goes to someone in need of a transplant who can't afford it.' "
OMG...this seriously made me cry....it's like she's dying, she's already written her will.

Read the book to find out the ending. Bet you'll be disappointed. Think about the words.....xD. Get through the loops, or just read the book and you'll find out what I mean by 'disappointed'.

xD baii!

No More Books to Read? WHAT?

Ha! Did anyone catch my "no more library books so I'm not currently reading a book" on Cindy's currently reading list? I just remembered that I have that whole stack of free books from the school library waiting to be read. There's always books to be read even if you don't think so. ;)

I Need to Read Divergent

Lately, I've been hearing Divergent is really good and I haven't even read it. I really need to read Divergent. Liana, can you do like a Book Review on it? And don't the ending, please. Normally, it's just me who spoils the ending though. Anyways, thanks.

Harry Potter is the most miserable, lonely boy you can imagine. He’s shunned by his relatives, the Dursley’s, that have raised him since he was an infant. He’s forced to live in the cupboard under the stairs, forced to wear his cousin Dudley’s hand-me-down clothes, and forced to go to his neighbour’s house when the rest of the family is doing something fun. Yes, he’s just about as miserable as you can get.
Harry’s world gets turned upside down on his 11th birthday, however. A giant, Hagrid, informs Harry that he’s really a wizard, and will soon be attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry also learns that, in the wizarding world, he’s a hero. When he was an infant, the evil Lord Voldemort killed his parents and then tried to kill Harry too. What’s so amazing to everyone is that Harry survived, and allegedly destroyed Voldemort in the process.
When Harry hears all this, he doesn’t know what to think. However, everything Hagrid tells him turns out to be true, and with a joyful heart Harry starts wizarding school in September. He quickly becomes best friends with a boy named Ron Weasley, and before they even make it to Christmas, they break tons of school rules when they attack a troll and prevent it from killing fellow student Hermione Granger. After the troll incident, the three become inseparable, and Harry is amazed to have found such great friends. He is constantly busy trying to stay on top of the mounds of homework, as well as participating in weekly Quidditch practices. Quidditch is a popular sport among wizards and Harry is the youngest Quidditch player in over a century. It's also a game Harry loves more than anything else at school.
As the year progresses, the three friends set out to solve the mystery of the gigantic three-headed dog that is guarding something in a deserted corridor in the school. They figure out that a very valuable object, the Sorcerer’s Stone, is being hidden in the school, although they don’t know why. When one of the professors starts acting as if he’s trying to steal it, they quickly take action to circumvent the theft.
Things come to a head when they sneak past the vicious, three-headed dog and go down into the bowels of the school, determined to save the stone. Ron and Hermione help Harry get through the challenges set forth to stop the thief, but Harry must go on alone to battle the professor. When he finally gets to the last room, however, he’s astonished to find someone else entirely.
Harry is forced to do battle with the wizard that tried to kill him so many years before, Lord Voldemort. He’s able to save the Sorcerer’s Stone, although he’s almost killed in process. The school headmaster, Dumbledore, arrives just in time to save Harry.
The school year ends spectacularly. Harry, Ron, and Hermione are honored for their service to the school, and Harry leaves to go back to the Dursley’s for the summer feeling as if he’s finally found a place where he really belongs.

It’s been another long summer at the Dursley’s for Harry Potter. He can’t wait to get back to Hogwarts and is counting down the days until he can return. He’s surprised when, on his birthday, a strange elfish creature named Dobby shows up with dire warnings for Harry: He must not return to Hogwarts!
When Harry refuses to stay home from school, Dobby lands him in heaps of trouble with the Dursley’s, who lock Harry up in his room and refuse to let him out. Before Harry can sink too far into despair, however, Ron Weasley and his two brothers, twins Fred and George, come to his rescue in a flying car and spirit him back to their house, where Harry is thrilled to spend the remainder of the summer.
Thus starts an eventful second year for Harry Potter. Between having to cope with more homework than ever, a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor who is vain and convinced Harry is too, and a mysterious voice he keeps hearing in the walls, Harry’s days are nothing if not interesting.
As the school year progresses, however, the mysterious voice Harry keeps hearing is getting more and more menacing, and soon vicious attacks start happening to the students of Hogwarts. When Harry discovers, quite by accident, that he is a Parslemouth and can speak to snakes, he’s quickly singled out as Slytherin’s heir, the person who, according to legend, will open the mysterious “Chamber of Secrets” and release the monster within.
Of course Harry has no idea who is attacking the students, but he quickly resolves to find out who is responsible. He, Ron, and Hermione come up with an elaborate plan to disguise themselves as Slytherin students so they can question Draco Malfoy, whom they believe is the one setting the monster loose in the school. The plan goes perfectly, but they’re disappointed when they find out from Draco that he is not the one they’re looking for.
The quest gets personal when Hermione is attacked and petrified by the monster. Ron and Harry are devastated, and are left on their own to uncover the true identity of the person responsible. Events come to a head when Ron’s sister, Ginny, is kidnapped and taken down into the Chamber of Secrets, and Ron and Harry discover an important clue that Hermione left for them. They quickly head down into the Chamber of Secrets to rescue Ginny.
Harry and Ron get separated once they’re down there and Harry is left to pursue the monster on his own. He quickly finds Ginny, and thanks to some mysterious help from Dumbledore and his pet phoenix, Fawkes, Harry is able to destroy Slytherin’s heir, who turns out to be a younger version of Lord Voldemort. Voldemort had possessed Ginny through an enchanted diary and was using her to set the monster loose on the students.
Harry and Ron are both hailed as heroes when they make it back out with Ginny, and Harry can’t imagine a finer end to such an eventful year when Hermione and the rest of the victims are healed and they win Gryffindor loads of House points.

Harry starts off his third year at Hogwarts rather eventfully when he inadvertently blows up his Aunt Marge, goes on the run, and is then personally absolved by the Minister of Magic himself. He then learns that mass murderer, Sirius Black, is intent on killing him, and Mr. Weasley makes him promise a strange thing, that no matter what he hears he won’t go looking for Black. Confused, Harry agrees.
As he heads back to school armed with this knowledge, he learns that dementors, evil, soul-sucking creatures, have been stationed around Hogwarts to protect the students from Black. The dementors affect Harry much more than the other students because of his terrible past, and he quickly resolves to learn to defend himself when he begins collapsing every time they come near. He finds a willing teacher in Professor Lupin, the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, who begins teaching Harry the Patronus Charm, which is the only spell that will work against the foul creatures.
As the school year progresses, the third year students are buried under piles of homework. Hermione is already stressed out due to her enormous course load, and none of them can figure out how she’s getting to all her classes. It doesn’t help that Hermione’s cat, Crookshanks, repeatedly tries to eat Ron’s rat, Scabbers, causing the two friends to argue ceaselessly about the animals. They stop speaking entirely when it’s discovered that Crookshanks seems to have eaten Scabbers and Ron is devastated.
Harry has a few close calls with Black when he breaks into the castle, but Black is not apprehended. Things come to a climax as the school year ends when a number of events occur. First, Ron’s rat, Scabbers, turns out to still be alive and is really a wizard in disguise. This wizard, Peter Pettigrew, has chosen to hide himself in this way so that he can spy on Harry and his friends on behalf of Lord Voldemort. Harry learns that it was Peter, and not Sirius Black, that betrayed his parents to Voldemort. Just when Harry is sure Peter is finally going to be punished for his crimes, he escapes into the night.
Sirius, long thought to be a mass murderer and Voldemort supporter, turns out to be innocent. Harry also learns that Sirius is his godfather. He’s overjoyed when, for a moment, he thinks he might be finally free of the Dursleys and able to live with Sirius, but Sirius has to go on the run from the Ministry to avoid being apprehended.
Professor Lupin, Harry’s favorite teacher, ends up resigning his post when it’s discovered that he’s a werewolf. He narrowly avoids attacking the kids, and it’s Sirius that saves their lives when he turns into a huge shaggy dog to protect them.
It’s an action-packed year to be sure, but Harry is very happy that Sirius makes it out safely and is finally free from Azkaban. He’s comforted by the fact that he finally has a family-member, so to speak, out there watching over him.

Harry can’t believe it. The Weasley’s have invited him to the Quidditch World Cup, which means he’ll get to leave the Dursley’s house early and go see a game that anyone would kill to see.
The game is intense, but not just because of the stellar players and non-stop action. Voldemort’s servants, the Death Eaters, make an appearance and the wizarding world is shocked when Voldemort’s sign appears in the sky after the game.
When Harry, Ron, and Hermione finally make it back to Hogwarts a few weeks later, they’re shocked to find that the school will be hosting the Triwizard Tournament this year. It’s a competition between the three wizarding schools of Hogwarts, Durmstrang, and Beauxbatons. A champion is chosen for each school and competes in very difficult challenges that test their skill and daring.
When the students from the other schools arrive in October, the students begin putting their name in the Goblet of Fire in order to be chosen as their school's champion. Harry is shocked beyond belief when, in spite of his inability to compete because of his age, he’s chosen as the fourth school champion.
What’s even worse is that Ron doesn’t believe that Harry didn’t put his name in the goblet. They get into a huge fight, and Ron stops talking to Harry. The rest of Hogwarts is also incensed that Harry is "looking for more fame", and the only person who stands by Harry’s side is Hermione.
In the tournament, the first task of fighting dragons goes great for Harry, and what’s even better is that it convinces Ron that Harry was telling the truth all along, and they become friends again.
As the school year progresses Harry is beset with troubles. Snooping journalist, Rita Skeeter, continues to publish gossipy articles about Harry that alienate him from the rest of the school, he’s turned down by his crush, Cho Chang, when he asks her to the Yule Ball, and in the days leading up to the second task of the tournament, which involves retrieving something important from the bottom of a lake filled with mer-people, he almost doesn’t find a way to accomplish what he’s got to do. Saved at the last minute, however, Harry again gets almost full marks and is tied for first place.
Sirius returns to keep an eye on Harry, as well as the mysterious happenings that keep taking place at Hogwarts. There is someone at the school who wants Harry dead, but no one knows who it is.
During the final task of the tournament, Harry and Cedric both tie for first place, but as soon as they grasp the winner's cup, they are transported to a creepy graveyard where Cedric is immediately killed and Harry tied up by Wormtail. He witnesses Voldemort’s return to power, and barely makes it back to Hogwarts alive, clutching Cedric’s body.
When he gets back he discovers that "Professor Moody",the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, was the traitor all along. He’s a magically disguised Death Eater who risked everything to kidnap Harry for Lord Voldemort. Harry tells Dumbledore what happened with Voldemort, and although the Minister of Magic, Cornelius Fudge, doesn’t believe Harry, Professor Dumbledore begins to take steps to mobilize against Voldemort.

It's been another long, hot summer at the Dursleys' for Harry Potter. Having spent most of it in an adolescent "funk" of depression and bitterness over the lack of informative letters from his friends about Voldemort's return, he's suddenly jolted out of his bad mood when two Dementors show up in the town of Little Whinging and attack Harry and his cousin, Dudley. When Harry uses magic to drive them off, however, he quickly receives a succession of owls from the Ministry, requiring him to attend a disciplinary hearing. His heart sinks when he reads that the question of whether to expel him from Hogwarts will be decided at the hearing.
Harry is exonerated at the hearing but when Harry finally manages to make it back to school, he finds things are different than when he left. Hagrid's missing, there are skeletal horses pulling the school carriages that only he can see, and the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher is none other than toadlike, repulsive Dolores Umbridge, a Ministry representative whom Harry is all too familiar with.
Even worse is the constant mutterings of the other students. Having spent all summer discrediting both Harry and Dumbledore, the Ministry has succeeded in convincing everyone they're both crazy and that Voldemort's return is nothing but a figment of their imagination.
With only Ron and Hermione standing by his side, Harry is hard-pressed to stay in a good mood and often lashes out at the ones he is closest to. His defiant behavior lands him in detention for weeks at a time with Professor Umbridge, who soon rises to the status of Hogwarts High Inquistor and revels in sacking teachers and keeping the entire school under the control of her stubby, ugly-ringed fingers.
As the school year progresses Harry and Umbridge frequently lock horns, and she retaliates by taking away everything he cares about: Quidditch, letters from Sirius, and visits with Hagrid. So Harry fights back the only way he can, by forming a secret defense group, known as Dumbledore's Army, and teaching his friends how to fight properly.
In spite of the frantic workload in preparing for their OWLs (tests that determine the student's future career choices), the tyranny of Umbridge, and Harry's unbearable crush on Ravenclaw seeker, Cho Chang, Harry keeps having tantalizing dreams of dark corridors and locked doors that are distracting at best. His scar prickles constantly and he soon finds he's turned into a tiny antenna for Voldemort's mood swings, which certainly doesn't help his own temper.
Things take a disastrous turn when Dolores Umbridge finds out about Harry's secret defense group. Harry is filled with guilt when Dumbledore, claims credit for the group in order to protect Harry, and has to flee the school to escape arrest.
This installment ends with an epic battle of good and evil, resulting in a devastating loss to Harry when his godfather Sirius Black is killed, and the full revelation that his destiny lies intertwined with none other than Voldemort himself. In the end, Dumbledore reveals the lost prophecy to Harry: either Harry will kill Lord Voldemort or Voldemort will kill Harry.

Harry's sixth year at Hogwarts opens to find him more mellow and grown up than ever. The death of Sirius Black has left an indelible mark on him, and he's more determined than ever to put an end to Voldemort and his Death Eaters. He's happy to escape the tyranny of the Dursley's early in the summer when Dumbledore picks him up to attend to a mysterious errand, which ends up in Harry's persuading ex-professor, Horace Slughorn, to come out of retirement to teach at Hogwarts again.
When the day finally arrives, Harry is as usual overjoyed to be back at school. He's been made Quidditch Team Captain. However, Harry and his friends are dismayed to find out that Professor Severus Snape has finally achieved his burning desire to become Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. Harry is excited to be taking private lessons with Dumbledore this year, who is showing him all about Voldemort's past. Dumbledore hopes that knowing as much as he can about Voldemort will help Harry in his final battle with the Dark Lord.
A mysterious book previously owned by the Half-Blood Prince comes into Harry's hands early on during his Potions class and changes the course of his school year by giving him a reputation for Potions brilliance that baffles everyone. Harry quickly grows to depend on the information he gets from the Half-Blood Prince's book and uses some of his spells outside of class, much to Hermione's displeasure.
Harry also keeps an increasingly close eye on Draco Malfoy. Convinced that Malfoy has replaced his father as the head of the Death Eaters, Harry believes Malfoy is constructing a dark plot inside the school but can't for the life of him figure out what it is. Between Ron and Hermione's skepticism, and Malfoy's disappearances from the school grounds, Harry has his hands full trying to uncover what Malfoy's up to.
As the year speeds by, Harry and Ron are both amazed at their blossoming love lives. Harry especially falls hard for someone he knows he shouldn't, his best friend Ron's sister, Ginny. His lessons with Dumbledore continue sporadically, and he's excited to hear that he might be able to go with Dumbledore on a dangerous mission to help destroy a horcrux that contains a part of Voldemort's soul.
Things reach a frantic pace when several things happen all at once. Harry and Dumbledore leave on their mission, Malfoy's dark plot finally works and he is able to sneak in Death Eaters to attack the school, and a fierce battle takes place between the students, members of the Order of the Phoenix, and the Death Eaters. Having succeeded in their mission to recover the horcrux, Harry and Dumbledore return only to get trapped on the Astronomy Tower where, to Harry's dismay, Professor Snape kills Dumbledore.
Dumbledore's death is a terrible blow to Harry, but it enables him to see clearly what his true mission is. He resolves that he will not return to Hogwarts, but instead sets off to destroy the remaining fragments of Voldemort's soul. He is bolstered by Ron and Hermione's insistence on going with him, and as soon as Dumbledore's funeral is over, they agree to start their journey together.

Harry has finally come of age, and finally started on his final journey to defeat Voldemort for good. The Dursely’s are forced to go into hiding so that Voldemort’s Death Eaters will not torture them for information, and Harry sets off with Ron and Hermione on a difficult quest to find and destroy the last of Voldemort’s Horcruxes. Only once those have been destroyed, Harry knows, can Voldemort truly be killed.
It’s not easy. Harry is plagued with rumors of Dumbledore’s past, and begins to wonder if the Headmaster he so long revered might have had a much darker past than he ever let on. The three are frequently without food, and with winter coming their journey is no day at the beach. Because of their lack of plan, lack of food, and lack of progress, their spirits are often low, and Ron especially becomes argumentative. One night he and Harry get into an epic fight and Ron leaves to go back home.
Harry and Hermione are devastated that he’d abandoned them. They finally decide to revisit Godric’s Hollow in search of clues, and once again they’re almost caught by Voldemort. Every step they make, it seems, he is there anticipating them. They’ve almost died too many times to count, and their spirits sink even lower when Harry discovers his wand was broken in the battle.
Ron redeems himself a few weeks later by coming back and saving Harry’s life in the nick of time. They manage to destroy another Horcrux with Gryffindor’s sword, and they become excited again as they begin to learn about a mysterious trio of magical objects called the Deathly Hallows. Whomever possesses the three objects will be a master of death, and to Harry, it’s his one chance to beat Voldemort and live to tell the tale.
As his adventures and the danger he’s in increases, Harry begins to truly understand what Dumbledore intended him to do. He realizes, almost at the last minute, that his own life will have to be sacrificed in order for Voldemort to truly be vanquished. Filled with love for his friends, he willingly gives his life so that they may live.
His last act of heroism, however, saves his life. He meets Dumbledore again in death, and Dumbledore answers many of his questions. He is given a choice to stay or to go back, and he chooses to go back and fight.
It’s all over between Harry and Voldemort with just one spell. Harry is left alive, the true master of the Hallows, and Voldemort is killed for good. He now understands more than he ever has about love (which he loves Ginny), and life, and sacrifice, and in spite of the loss of many of his friends during the last battle, is grateful for the second chance he’s been given at life, and love.

Okay, thanks to http://www.wikisummaries.org/Harry_Potter for giving me the summaries of the seven books. I certainly wasn't going to type all that up.

Cindy's Summary: Okay. So let's move on to my summary. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have read all those up there because I haven't too. But the facts on the side is cool. So anyways, it started when Harry Potter was born/ when Harry Potter's parents, Lily and James Potter died/ Harry lived, but Harry Potter started really telling the story like it's happening right now when he was eleven years old. His relatives, Aunt Petunia, Uncle Vernon, and Cousin Dudley just straight on despised him and he had to suffer their bidding and get nothing in return. So anyways, Harry Potter gets an invitation to the best wizard school, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, or just plain Hogwarts, where Albus Dumbledore, the only wizard Voldemort is scared of, is the headmaster. In the first book, Harry Potter made friends, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, and enemies, Draco Malfoy and his buddies. Then the second book till the seventh book, Harry Potter have to fight Voldemort who is rising to destroy the world once more. And btw, Voldemort was greatly weakened once before by trying to kill Harry Potter, so that's why Voldemort's so anxious to kill Harry Potter. Voldemort, aka Tom Riddle rose officially in the third book or fourth book, in this case, when an evil betrayal friend of Lily and James, went back to Voldemort. And the sixth book was so sad!! _______________ died!!!! For those who haven't read the book, I won't spoil it for you. So, of course, Harry Potter won in the end and got married and had three children, blah, blah, blah. Personally, I don't really like the ending but Harry Potter should have died. I'm not cruel, but sometimes, after a very hard battle, happily ever after just isn't on my mind. It would make a better ending to me. I would have cried my head instead of thinking of how Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley just doesn't seem like they belong to each other. Oops. My bad. But you'd probably guess the ending already.

Rate:(1-10): 9.5

Hey! I never said it was bad. In fact, J.K. Rowling is such a good author. I mean, she explains stuff in clear detailed. I actually didn't like the movies very much though, because when I was dragged to the movie theater to see the movies, all you hear is scary music and they actually skip, like, a lot of parts, but it wasn't that bad. You still get the idea. Ummm...what is there to say when there's no books around and I'm not about to tell you the ending either, so baii.
