Cindy's Book Review: Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi. (Sounds similar to Veronica Roth. ;)
Book Summary: Exiled from her home, the enclosed city of Reverie, Aria knows her chances of surviving in the outer wasteland --- known as The Death Shop --- are slim. If the cannibals don't get her, the violent energy storms will. She's been taught that the very air she breathes can kill her. Then Aria meets and Outsider named Perry. He's wild --- a savage --- and her only hope of staying alive.
A hunter for his tribe in a merciless landscape, Perry views Aria as sheltered and fragile --- everything he would expect from a Dweller. But he needs Aria's help too: she alone holds the ke to his redemption. Opposites in nearly every way, Aria and Perry must accept each other to survive. Their unlikely alliance forges a bond that will determine the fate of all who live under the never sky.

Cindy's Opinions: This book is surprisingly similar to Julia Goldings's awesome books, Dragonfly and The Glass Swallow. The only problem is that this book doesn't have the same feel: the same romance, the same sadness, and the same background. So, I'm not going to say so much, because, well, the beginning was so boring I wanted to quit reading. At least the middle got interesting, but the romance is somewhat, choppy. Julia Golding's books is a smooth hill that keeps going up or at least like stairs. This book's romance is like a speed bump. Like they find each other annoying and suddenly they get in bed or something. Either way, I find Julia Golding's books more entertained......I really like Dragonfly and The Glass Swallow. I like Dragonfly more though. You should really read it, Liana.

Rate: (1-10) 6.9
Okay, don't think wrong, but I like decimal numbers during ratings because they confuse me.

Quote Time:
"Peregrine."
Really, books come up with the weirdest names. Peregrine sounds like a girl name. At least his nickname is Perry. I like the name Perry for some reason. Probably because in other books, guys named Perry are actually pretty hot. Either way, weird name like these are actually pretty pretty. Like Taoshira, Day, June, ya know.

" 'How long is this journey?' "
Sounds like she's going to Mars. Really, how long and journey makes the destination sound like Mars. I'm so biased. To her, though, I'm pretty the destination is Mars......or a desert.

"...........worst death in the Death Shop, she decided, was rotting alone."
This sounds every way, horrible.....'worst death', 'Death Shop', 'rotting alone'

"were Marked."
Seems similar to Divergents in Divergent, and Day and June from Legend.

".....crafted Aria's DNA"
So this book obviously takes place in the future....that reminds me of the movie GATTACA I had to watch in science class.

" 'How old do you think I am, Dweller?'
'.....fifty to sixty thousand years.' "
Dang....for real? He's eighteen.

" '.....it's your first blood.' "
Ewww.....that's what they call it when you have your first period and the guy had to tell the girl that. What the heck....?

Whoop. That's it.
