Goodreads Summary: Her whole life, it had just been the two of them. Before her mother’s last breath, she gave Camille the information she had craved her entire life: the identity of her father. Daring to contact him, Camille was welcomed by an entire family she never knew existed. But nothing comes without a price, as she discovers when her family claims a legendary heritage tracing back to a centaur touched by Zeus.

As she learns the secrets of her Centaur bloodline, she is drawn into a forbidden love with Drake. Her life may be the blood debt required to pay for her mother’s transgressions. The same person who once held her mother captive, and forced her into decades of hiding, now controls Camille. Her only chance is to seek a piece of her mother’s past that will win her freedom and the life she desperately wants.

Cindy's Review: One thing I got to say. The romance is not what I wanted. At all. Man.

Cover:
It wasn't the cover that had caught my attention. Well. She is pretty. But probably not placed among my "Most Attractive Covers' list.

Characters:
Camille just learned that she was a Centauride. You guys know the famous Chiron? The half-human, half-horse who trained Greek heroes (in Camp-Half-Blood if you've read Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson series). Well. Yeah. That's the one. Camille is a descendant of him. Which means she has more powers than most common Centaurs.

The Centaurs marriage system is weird. Since there are a lot more males than females, the females get to choose a male she wants to marry. Once they're engaged, they can't change it. If they break it off, one would owe a blood debt to another. Most males that had been broken off would never get a female again. Which means they die alone, unless they chose a human wife.

Drake is a male Centaur. He is engaged to Bianca, but when he touched Camille, he instantly felt some spark. But he can't break it off with Bianca. That's like against Centaur laws.

Bianca is, yes, Drake's fiance, but she doesn't love Drake. She wants Gage to be her husband, but her mother won't let her. Bianca had no choice but to take Drake.

Gage is the son of Camille's mom's ex-fiance. Is that a bit confusing? Camille's mom was engaged to Gage's dad, Kyle (if I didn't get the name wrong) , but she ran away instead and ended up breaking the engagement. That means Camille's mom owes a blood debt to him. But since she died (sorry, I didn't mention that she died), Camille now has to owe the blood debt.

I find Kyle kind of nice. He says if Gage doesn't have a Centuaride by the age 28, Gage will have to marry Camille. Kyle isn't as agressive and scary as I thought he would be.

Concept/Plot:
The storyline and plot seems pretty original to me. I have never a read book like it so yeah. It's pretty cool. I mean, I never read anything about descendant of Centaur except maybe the Party Ponies from the Percy Jackson series.

But either, my big thing! The romance. Like I don't want to ruin it for you, but I pretty much told you already in the characters. But I won't say names anyways. Why does Camille have to end up with him? Like ew.. Totally ew.. Like why not her best guy friend? Or her the guy she was supposed to marry? Like why him? Gah!

SO yeah. That leads on to my rate.

Rate: (1-10): 7.5
It's a lovely book and everything, but I Do Not Approve of the Romance.

Well, Happy Monday~
