Goodreads Summary: Fear of death is all too common. Visions of it chill the bones and skip heartbeats. Seeing it coming and knowing only you can rescue the soul of the victim from the fiery bowels of hell…that’s downright life-altering.
Cassandra Cosgrove’s life was altered at the age of sixteen when she found out that it was her responsibility to save the lives, and ultimately the souls, of innocent victims targeted by Hell’s demons. As impossible as it seemed at first, she was able to live a fairly normal life, while secretly fulfilling her obligation as a Guardian of Fate.
But years later Fate has its own plan when her visions begin drastically changing at the same time two mysterious men appear in her life. Cassandra suddenly finds herself caught in a battle between good and evil, with her own soul on the line. When it seems everyone in her life has a secret they’ve been hiding from her, who can she trust to be the Guardian of her Fate?
Cindy's Review: I won this book from a giveaway hosted by a blogger named Jennifer Bielman. (I forgot her blog name. It's so long. I think it was Reading Urban Fantasy and...I forgot the other part). Inside, there was also a tiny note from the author, so I was really excited to read this one. ;)
Well, I think the guy's eyes are scary in the back. It's so bright and shiny. And the girl has this face on that makes you think wrong about the book, so when I was reading this book during class, I always covered the cover. No offense, but I don't really want my teachers catching me reading a book that the cover looks like it would be new adult. I mean, I'm still in middle school and I don't that bad of a reputation of reading porn-y books and thinking wrong, so gotta keep my reputation! LOL.
Cassandra Cosgrove - Cassandra is the main character of the book. The book starts with Cassandra in one of those trances. She is a Guardian and that means she will get visions of how people will die and her goal is to save them from their death. Soon, the leads on to her meeting two guys who has her confused about both good and evil.
Caleb - When Cassandra first meets him, Cassandra actually likes him and find that he is a nice, polite sort of guy. But later on when Caleb should her his true colors, Cassandra can't run away far enough.
Hunter - Yes, Hunter is a bad guy. But he's a sexy one. Apparently to Cassandra, is not what she wanted. But when Hunter saves her in many numerous situations, Cassandra couldn't help but give in to the strong pull Hunter has on her. Hunter is the type of guy who moves on in a relationship, fast.
But Cassandra have more important things to worry about, now that she is caught in a tug-of-war between Hunter and Caleb. It becomes even worse when the Devil himself appears to claim Cassandra for himself. But a surprising visit from the Devil's Queen might give Cassandra a hopw of living.
In the end, there's a love triangle. And really, it just got to stop there, right? yep. So gotta read the next book. Or at least find out who Cass is going to be with. I mean, the man she loves is trapped. But the evil turned to good. So how does everything work? Stay tuned to L.J. Kentowski to find out. ;)
I guess the book was okay. Not really my type of book, but I didn't hate it, so it's alright. I go for more young-adult romance. Maybe even juvenile fiction. ;D
